Lightbulb Things to avoid b4 your OR date!

Ok, so I'm going in for my redo on the 17th & being that this is my 3rd breast augmentation in 2 years I have done a ton of reading.... so...everbody is always asking....what did your PS tell you to avoid eating before your OR date?.... I got the list together that I avoid.... I heal so quickly after my PO nurse always says I look like I'm weeks ahead of other people... I honestly think, & so does she, it is because I'm so careful before & after....avoid these things for up to 10 day's before & 5 days after.... I have had hardly any bruising...My Friend whom followed this has a major tummy tuck & her ears tacked & her eyes done (upper lids).... she was up & moving in 3 days!!
I hope this helps any ladies wondering what to avoid before the BOOBIE day!!!

MEDICATIONS TO AVOID
If you are taking any medications on this list, they should be discontinued 2 weeks prior to surgery and only acetaminophen products, such as Tylenol, should be taken for pain. All other medications - prescriptions, over-the-counter and herbal - that you are currently taking must be specifically cleared by the doctor prior to surgery. It is absolutely necessary that all of your current medications be specifically cleared by the doctor and the nursing staff.

Alcohol is a big NO NO as well since it acts as a blood thinner. You need to quit 2 wks before and not have any until your stitches come out. Preferably you should hold off for another 6 wks. I waited 3 before my first drink. My PS also stated not to get my stitches wet until they were fully healed to avoid infection. I went 20 days w/o a shower. No infection, boobs are getting softer and only had 3 spitters.

You will be ok...but dont have another drink!!! I would drink tons of water to flush your system & just watch what you put in your body for the next few days... what can you do now??? Just be careful!
Plus, this is only a list!! not a thing to live by...only advice.

I looked over the do not eat/take/consume list and I feel like I can't eat anything

So, what did most of you gals eat/drink 2 weeks pre breast augmentation?

I feel like I am left with nothing to eat. Am I the only one?

LOL exactly what I was thinking. Seriously just eat as you would. I think we all know that garlic, asprin, alcahol, smoking and vitamin E is not good for recovery, I dont think I would go much further than that.

I'm really surprised by the veggies and fruits! I would have never have known! The list my surgeon gave me didn't list nearly half of those things but I think I will take that new list into consideration now!! Thanks!

I had a personalized booklet made with everything on what to expect from before and after surgery. It's neat and what I mean by personalized is my name and surgery date was one every page and they made it into a book. I have a similar list of the medications and things to avoid as the OP.

This was the same list my PS gave me prior to my surgery and I also felt like I couldn't eat anything. Garlic is on the list and garlic is in EVERYTHING. I asked my PS how necessary it was to not have garlic and he said YOU CAN'T HAVE IT. Anyway, because there was hardly anything I could eat 2 weeks prior to my breast augmentation because I followed the list, I lost 6 lbs during those two weeks.

What did you eat/make for meals? I would love to hear some of the meals that were put together during the 2 week mark. I had fish and rice yesterday.

I made everything myself...no processed foods and made sure to check the ingredients on packages. I ate a lot of grilled chicken and brown rice. For lunch I ate chicken sandwiches. I ate scrambled eggs. I did not eat out the entire two weeks. I only ate things that I knew what the ingredients were as my PS said definitely NO garlic. There wasn't much to eat, thats why I lost the 6 lbs.

Not sure if it is a myth or not, but garlic affects blood clotting; therefore many surgeons recommend not using garlic prior to and after surgery. HTH

I know they said no garlic but that was just something I could not avoid and I didn't worry about it much.

I got out okay. Hehe!
