Time off work - sick leave or vacation?

For those of you that took time off work - was it treated as vacation time or sick/personal leave?

I do not get vacation where I work as a vet tech so I just had to take upaid time off I was off for a month. I am only pt-time so we do not get vacation time.

I used sick days! I have only ever used one other sick day in my life so I thought I'd take advantage of it! Thats what they're there for!

lol I used vacation time and said I was just going away to my family cottage for a couple days to relax and enjoy the outdoors. I only gave an explanation because I just happened to book my surgery during a busy week of work.

Vacation is what I used. I just said I am going to be on vacation from Aug 27 to Sep 7. Our vacation and sick days are lumped into one big PTO bucket and you just use it for whatever you need to.

Our time off is Combined Time Off, so it doesn't make a difference. I just took 2 days off.

My breast augmentation was done on a Wed., so I took Wed., Thurs. and Fri. as sick days, then took that following week off and used my vacay days.

Only had 3 days worth of vacation hours and im short 1 day so had them use both vacation for 3 days n sick day for 1...wanted to make sure had all 4 days paid! lol My breast augmentation is tomarrow so im off wed thur frid n monday returning tuesday

Original surgery I used vacation days.
First repair I was already out on medical leave because I had my hyst'o 16 days prior.
Second repair I used sick days.
Guess I covered it all!

I'm in the military, so the day of the surgery, I won't go in. No penalty. I start my leave Sun and stay on leave til the 4th of Sept. But we roll into a holiday and I don't go back to work til the 9th. So 16 days off for me.

I'm in the military so its different for us. My surgery in this Fri and I'm not going in. No penalty against me. I start my leave Sun and it goes til Sept 4 and we go into a holiday break. I will go back to work on the 9th of Sept. So in all I'll have 16 days off but only have to use 11 days but off for 16.

sick days I will be using I have a bout 45 left this year anyway. We need a note if we are out more than 3 days in row, and i plan on taking a week.
my date is scheduled sept 11th
then the following week I am staying home.
he did say i could go back monday?? what?? no thanks, I have tons of sick time and plan on using it.
