Saline Vs Silicone Help!

Hi Everyone!!!
Just a question...

I just got back from my consult and my ps is suggesting I go with 400-450cc round silicone mod+ implants. He said for any implant over 350cc's silicone works better because in smaller girls with larger implants there is less of a chance you can see/feel rippling if you use silicone (instead of saline). I find this hard to believe as many girls have saline implants over 350cc's and I have never heard any complaints about rippling. I was actually leaning towards saline for cost, smaller scar, and the fact you can over/underfill each side to match better during surgery. After hearing the advice from my ps I am just confused now! Obviously he is the expert and he knows what would look best for the results I want to acheive, but hmmmmm... any thoughts? Do any of you gals have saline implants around 400-450cc's or similar stats as mine? Any complaints???? Just wondering what your opinions are! Thanks girls!!!!

Oh p.s I am 5'4 115lbs a 34A and want to be a full C small D.

hey girl.. i got saline 375cc in my right and 350 in my left (trying to even them out)- i have no rippling or sloshing and at my 3 mo post op today, he thought i had silicone from feeling it as he had forgotten.

that being said, i had stretchy skin and droopy boobs from losing weight so that may have something to do with it. also, i did mention maybe a redo to go up in size and he said if went silicone my scar (aerola) would have to be enlarged to fit it through. hope that helps!

I am 5'8", 110 lbs and my PS said the same thing to me. Had my breast augmentation on 9/21, 375cc mod silicone unders. It was kind of like "you have no breast tissue left (also breastfed 2), and no fat. We HAVE to do it this way, if you want it to look natural."

I, also, have a friend who is 5'6", 105 lbs and her PS said the same thing. Though, she had HP put in. Still silicone unders (440 cc). She has had hers for a couple of years with no rippling, though if she goes under 100 lbs she notices some "buckling" in her cleavage area.

HTH

Hi! my PS just told me the same thing but i really want to go with saline, less expensive and less CC problems? He said i am too thin and will see rippiling so i am also confused now on which to get, i just don't like that if silicone ruptures how will you know?

SILICONE all the way girl!!!!!!!!!! Have you felt them side by side? I have seen a lot of rippling and they aint pretty.. but hey Saline is much safter. Think about feel vs saftey instead of the tiny little difference in the incision size. Small girls like us need all the help we can get. This is a personal decision and hope you make the decision that makes you happy- keep in mind: the more tissue you have to begin with the less chance of ripple

I am 5'3" 100lbs and i had 480cc salines. Unfortunately i did have rippling and i could feel the implant along the sides and bottom of my breasts. It wasnt something i noticed at first, but as they settled it got worse. I recently had a redo to go larger and switch to silicone. There is a world of difference between the 2 and i cannot feel the implants anymore, nor do i have any rippling. I wouldnt go back to saline for anything. BUT, there are tons of gals with saline who love them and have no problems whatsoever. Bottom line, if you are not comfortable with sils then go with your gut and get saline. You have to do whats best for you sweetie! Good luck to you!

I'm getting silicone. My PS highly recommends it compared to saline if there's no breast cancer history and you're over 22. My boyfriend had a girlfriend with saline and said he could always feel the crease in her bag and it was wierd. One of my good friends works for a company that makes breast implants and she too says silicone is the way to go. I'm excited to go with silicone. I hate that it's more expensive, but I think it's worth it.

I wanted saline for the same reason you did, cost less, smaller scar, etc. I wanted silicone for the feel. I asked my PS if I had enough breast tissue to pull off saline and he said yes. So saline it was! I'm 2 weeks out and they jiggle and are softer than I expected at this point. I think I will be happy with the final result Good luck with your decision! Trust what you want and try to not let price factor into your decision (I know it's hard), you wanna make sure you are happy!

I'm not sure if anyone else had this fear but it's one of the smaller reasons I chose silicone over saline. My husband and I travel a lot and are very active. I was terrified of popping a saline and only having one breast inflated while we were rock climbing or scuba diving. I'm not sure about everyone else, but where we are right now, I would not be able to travel to my PS very easily and do not trust the Drs here. Granted, this is my own fear so take it with a grain of salt. lol

As for the main reason: I didn't have much breast tissue to begin with and my friends with saline had told me that if they could have afforded silicone, they would have gone with it I saved for a little while longer and got the ones I wanted instead of settling. I am VERY happy with my choice. My husband says they feel just as real as before my breast augmentation.

I have salines and am happy with them. I love my teeny little scars - even I have a hard time finding them now and really have to look hard to see them. I like the comfort in knowing right away (almost) if I were to have a rupture. Yet having said all that, IF I ever need a redo, I would seriously consider going with sils. I didn't have rippling with my salines until I lost weight and lost most of my natural breast tissue. I now have rippling. It's not awful and you can't see it, only feel it in certain positions. It doesn't really bother me much, but I know its there and wish it wasn't.

Do your research and weigh the pros and cons before you make your decision. You need to feel comfortable with what's being put in your body. You also need to have trust in your PS. Good luck!

I have salines and have absolutely no complaints about them! I had enough breast tissue pre breast augmentation, so the choice was mine and saline was cheaper and i felt safer choosing it. However, that's not to say i wouldn't consider silicone in the future. But for now, they are great. FR me if you want to see my pics!

I have silicone, and I have slight rippling on the sides. I have thin skin, and had very little tissue to start with. My weight fluctuates from around 103-118. At about 115, I feel no ripples. At 105, I can feel some rippling, and see it a little. So it all depends. I've read where girls on here had their breast augmentation for years, and thought they didn't have any rippling - till they lost weight.

So you can get rippling even with silicone. I'm glad I didn't go with saline, because it'd be even worse!

i had very little tissue, saggy and thin skin so i have textured silicone unders to help minimise rippling, bottoming out, etc etc!
please dont think about it in terms of price, but if you did i would be thinking silicone is more expensive for a reason. (possibly that its a better option?? you know the saying, you get what you pay for. ??)
and the new silicone is very safe. if it were to break, you may never know. (it doesnt leak out into your body like the old style silicone did, it stays in the shell.) with saline, you will definatly notice!
and as for the scar, it is only a slight difference and the scar does heal and dont forget it is under your boob so unless you are going to walk around holding your boobs up yelling, "look at my scar!" i dont think you will see it anyway, no matter what the size!

By the way, have you searched on youtube for video's of silicone and saline implants?? I would suggest having a look. My friend thought they still used the old style silicone and couldnt believe i wanted to go with silicone implants! but after i showed her the videos on youtube she soon changed her mind and now SHE wants to get silicone!!
