Question Softening?

Question: How long does it take for your breasts to soften after BA? I had unders a week ago, and there is no signs of softening. I know it will take 6 months, if not a year for the full results and the whole "drop and fluff" to happen, but I REALLY hope they soften some before then. My PS hasn't recommended massage yet, but my post op appt is tomorrow. Surgery was a week ago today. I wonder if he will suggest massaging at that point, although I swore he said he doesn't recommend massage......Hubby keeps asking, are they going to stay that hard!?

I was given massaging instructions at my 1-week appointment, but I don't think massaging is supposed to help with softening. I think it's just supposed to help keep the pockets open to prevent CC. Mine are still pretty hard and tight, so I'm looking forward to reading the answers to this question! I would also like to know when the numbness will go away, since I still can't feel much of anything in my breasts.

I began massaging after 48 hrs. PS believes it helps with softening. The girls are softening nicely. Seems to be different for everyone.

I was told I didn't have to massage and didn't. I was sleeping on my tummy at week 4, so I know that had to have helped. So they were softening up about then, but still tooks months for them to be really pliable and soft.

I was instructed to move the implants around by pushing on each side and the top gently a couple times a day at my 1 week. Mine started to soften about week 3.

My PS didn't have me massage and mine softened around 3-4 months, I'm guessing. I cant remember exactly. But now they are super soft and jiggle and are wonderful. They'll get softer, just give them some time.

Mine are just starting to soften up a bit at 3 weeks. Even tho' they've got a long way to go, its encouraging to notice a little bit of change.

My PS told me to start massaging in the third day. So from that day as long as I have time I massage them.He recommend to massage them while in shower with soup.In the first week they are both SOFT (my PS was glad).Right now they are so soft

My PS doesn't recommend massage. My left one has already started to soften a quite bit on the outside, and the inside is "trying to soften" The right one is not as hard as it was a week ago, but it still much firmer than the left one. My left is actually getting to the "jiggle" a small bit phase. Wishe the right one would hurry and catch up, but I am only 13 days out.

I think everyone softens a different rates. Take all the answers and get an average...

Thanks Ladies!

Thanks again for all the input. I guess the bottom line is it will eventually happen! My post op was today and he does not recommend massage. So, I guess I will either eventually sleep on my stomach again and/or let nature take it's course. Thanks!

At my 1 week + mark, I'm now 'cupping' and doing a circular motion clock- and counter-clockwise. The other one that I'm doing is hand just above nipple, pulling up on skin, and pushing down on implant.

For the record, prior to this, I've been 'poking & prodding' a little bit...very similarly to when you have a charlie-horse in your foot/calf. Just a firm rubbing of the area because that's exactly what it feels like: a constant charlie-horse in your boob. I know it's the muscle in spasm, and, well, it only makes sense to me to make it stop. Usually only involved an index finger or two fingers and a little rubbing. Nothing intense or vigorous.

I've got some pretty decent softening going on already, and although I don't think they were as high as I anticipated in the beginning, they have been dropping at a pretty decent rate already. They look different every day.
