Measuring for your post ba bra size.

Hi girls..Ok, so here is the thing. I have noticed several post about how some of us have gone to have ourselves measured and are told we are way smaller than the bras we actually buy. I used the measurement calculations on JBI to see what cup size it gave me. According to that chart I am a B cup. That can't be. I am just about coming out of my C cup bras. I have had myself measured twice and I also measured myself for the ribcage number. It has come out at 38 by me and the two stores where I was measured. Then I measured the actual breast as instructed on JBI's chart. They are measuring at 10" across. This, according to the chart makes me a B. I absolutely cannot get into a B and am thinking the C's are not going to last much longer. The top inner edges sort of cut into my skin. As I drop this may change, though. So, does anyone know if there is a better way to determine the true cup size? I am not knocking JBI's chart, just thnk it may not work for every body type or something. One difference could be that I have HP implants

Thoughts or suggestions for measuring differently?

Really there isn't a good way for everyone to measure. The JBI method is the best for most people, but does not work for everyone. It is pretty close for me, but not right. Your best bet will be trying on and checking the fit. It sucks, but after a while you will know what size you need in the different brands.

BTW, you look reat in your avi!

I have the same problem. I have tried lots of online methods of measuring your own bra size and I always get 32B. Lol I was a 32B before my breast augmentation. I do not get what is wrong with my boobs. I find it is easier just to go to different bra stores and try on their bras and see which fits best.

I agree, this has always worked best for me. Its about the fit more than what the tag says, and bras run so differently from brand to brand that you may wear one size in one brand and a completely different size in another. Its just trial and error. You will learn what brands, sizes, and styles work best for you over time! Happy bra shopping!

I did find that the Barenecessities.com website has a different measurement system and it is definitely closer to my actual bra size. One thing I think may be messing up my measurements is that I probably have a little extra fatty tissue on my back behind my arms. It is definitely an age thing and lack of excercise due to breast augmentation. i think if I lose a few pounds and firm up a bit then my band size will go to a 36 again and my measurements will come out more accurately. We'll see because I start back to the gym in a week. Yeah!!!

Sometimes I think that when we talk about D & F (and it does happen), that some of the growth is really us finding a new way to measure or an alternate brand/style bra. I have measured from 34 D to 32 DDD/F, all in the last week.

I think the only way to define your size is to pick the brand that fits you best, and try on bras for comfort and support.

I know what you mean. I measured my boobs and I got 11.5" which is apparently a full DD. I have 950 cc's LOL. I just got sized yesterday and bought my first few bras and I am a 32 I cup... much larger than what the JBI chart said I was lol

Dang! I didn't know they made an I cup size. I so should have gone bigger. I do think you Mommakover is right that there isn't really a true way to measure everyone because we are all so very different. Think I will go bra shopping this weekend and find myself some great fitting bras and just not worry about size.

Hey hun, I posted a measuring guide here: http://is.gd/4iE9A

... but as per my experience (http://is.gd/4iDYo), make sure you follow the instructions very carefully - when I did this the second time around, I ended up with a D cup instead of a B (which is apparently right, according to my PS nurse).

Have fun

I found def bra shopping sorted out all my problems, i tryed heaps of online measurments and it always put me in 10/B or some a A cup, but at around mth 3 i was wearing 32C cup bras and now I wear 32 d mostly (aussie sizes) and i really only look like a c cup, so i say def go and try them on in shop!!!!
