![]() | Male vs. Female PS?? My friend & I were debating about this the other day as her little sister is having a BA in Dec. Which would you rather go with?? My other friend had a female plastic surgeon & has really saggy boobs. I'm guessing she may have put in low profile implants cause those suckers just hang there. Maybe it's just me but are female plastic surgeon more conservative than males?? I feel like maybe men look @ beauty in terms of how their patients want their body and female plastic surgeon may try to push their opinions on their patients more? I could totally see myself trying to be a plastic surgeon & pushing everyone to get XL boobies! Haha. Just curious as to what ya'll think??

hmm interesting topic. i think if i had to chose i would go with a male plastic surgeon. not to be sexist or anything at all but you do make a good point! a man would probably be more objective in helping the patient reach their goal. that's just my opinion ![]() |

I had consults with female and male plastic surgeons. To me the females were more conservative and wanted to make sure it was completely natural looking. Being that they tried to IMO make me want what they wanted to do. The male surgeons on the other hand asked me more what I wanted and the look I wanted to get. So I can see what you are saying and with the consults I had would have to agree.

Good topic! Well over here there are no plastic surgeons that are member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (board certified). The only female who was works in burns. I can't really comment because I didn't get to go on consults or consider using a female surgeon. From what I've read on here the female surgeons did seem to be conservative

I would probably choose a male surgeon based on my personal experience. I've had consults with 2 males and 2 females. Both males were willing to give me exactly what I wanted in terms of looks and size. The first female I saw seemed a bit conservative and the second female was an idiot.

Great thread!!! I have to say that I have been to both... Ummm I went to the female AFTER my BA to get a 2nd opinion and Although she explained things much better than the men she wanted to make me smaller which is okay and wanted to push my pockets up and she was showing me and my nips pointed down a bit and I asked about the lift and she said you have 2 kids and are 34 you need to accept your flaws as woman and a mothee ..... UMM FU !!!! So conservative yes!!!!! She also said that my plastic surgeon just did what any man would do stick a saline in and fill fill fill and she was like look at the mess you were left with... LOL I walked out at that point.... Complications suck!!!

Hmmm, interesting topic. I had a woman plastic surgeon and I was/am very happy with my choice. She and I hit it off well, I was very comfortable with her. I felt like she knew what I wanted and even tho' I ended up a bit bigger than I expected, when I look at the pics I showed her, its pretty close. She even told me I could have gone bigger, but she tried to stay with the look I had chosen. So I don't think I'd call her conservative, plus I know others who have gone to her and a couple are quite big!! But that's just my experience. There will be women who are more conservative and there will also be men who are more conservative. You've got to chose who you are most comfortable with, regardless of the sex of the plastic surgeon. Slinky |

Interesting topic. I think a female would be less objective. It is often in a females nature to be more nurturing and correct. Therefore, being more conservative, perhaps erring on the smaller side, less evasive (meaning lifts) side. (Not that being that way is bad)

YA I dont think it is male vs. female. I think it just depends on their individual personalities, etc.. The first plastic surgeon I saw, was a male; and I did not like him whatsoever. Second plastic surgeon was a female, and we hit it off immediately; she answered all of my questions, took her time with me and made me feel very comfy! I am going with her! My next appt with her is next week to try on sizers!! (Funny, though, I noticed that she has a very small chest; obviously has had no work done! LOL)

Hmm, it's funny because for my regular doctor check-ups I only want a female, but I guess I didn't even consider a female plastic surgeon. I knew I was going to go with the plastic surgeon I did, as he has done a few friends BA's, so I guess I didn't even think about going to a woman! Funny because my plastic surgeon was clearly up close and personal, which is exactly why I like a female MD! Who knows.... I can't say whether or not females are more conservative though, I agree that it just depends on their personality.

I saw both for consults and went with the male plastic surgeon. I just liked him more nothing to do with gender. She was as professional and her results were great (saw one of her nurses) but I left there with a lot to think about, when I left the one I went with I had no questions or worries. That's why I picked him.

I consulted with men but was more comfortable with the female plastic surgeon that I chose. She really tried to talk me up in size and told me that I would probably kick myself later for deciding to only go 360, she did however promise a really natural result, which is exactly what I told her I wanted. I didn't have any problem with the male plastic surgeon's that I visited and didn't really find a gender bias issue on the whole topic. It just all came down to which plastic surgeon I felt I "clicked" with and I am glad that I made the choice that I did |

When I first considered doing this years ago I saw men and women plastic surgeon. The women in that case was the best BUT I went with a man this time. I like men dr's in general. I have always had better experiences with them.

I had a woman plastic surgeon for my tummy tuck. I like that she is very straight to the point. Plus i have amazing results. For MY BA in Jan, i went back to the same plastic surgeon. I want to look natual and she measured me and pulled out a chart that i fell into from my overall appearance and measurements and said the range. Then i tried on the sizers. I'm afraid of looking too big. I have broad shoulders...so i dont want to look like a box. Anyway..going off topic. My female plastic surgeon is conservative, but so am i. She's doing what best suits my body. And her work is very, very good.

When I first decided I wanted a BA I was set in stone on having a female plastic surgeon. My DH was calling around for me and getting information about surgeons in the area. There was only one female any where close by and she charged double what my plastic surgeon charged. I really didn't like her results as much. I never booked a consult with her. It seems to me that she was able to charge more because she was the only female plastic surgeon in the area. I don't like the sound of that. I'll take a man that does better work instead.

I have a male plastic surgeon and he is pretty conservative. I showed him pictures I liked of women with 350s in and asked him what he thought. He told me he thought they were big! His nurse said he just prefers smaller breasts. And when I asked her what she thought of the pics, she said she didn't think they were too big at all!

My plastic surgeon is female, and she wasn't conservative. I told her I wanted to be a DD and she told me 400HP over the muscle would give me the size I wanted.
