You are right, it is a very individual thing. I didn't have any bruising at all. I have seen others that were so bruised they looked like they had been beaten. The good news is if you bruise will go away, it's only temporary.

I had an areola incision as well and was mainly bruised in my cleavage area, but it wasn't too bad and went away within a couple of days.

I agree with Ivy, everyone is different. I had no bruising at all! That doesn't mean I wasn't sore though! I also had crease incisions.

I was one of the lucky ones. I didn't get even a hint of a bruise. I warned my boyfriend ahead of time and showed him bruised up pictures from random websites. Then after I was all healed, he said something like "wow, you didn't buise at all... that's odd." And it was.

I was also on a vitamin regime that my PS gave me that also included Bromelain and Arnica. Not sure if that contributed at all or not (as I've never had surgery before).

I bruise so easily and just had my breast augmentation 2 days ago and so far I only have a small bruise under my left breast but it ooks like I may have a bigger one in a day or two under the left I also had the aerola incision which I highly recommend. I can totally life over my head no problem at all.

Hi Susan. I had MAJOR bruising on my right side on my ribcage and side. I think some people just bruise worse than others. It looked like someone had taken a baseball bat and beaten me with it. I even took Arnica tablets beforehand to prohibit that, but it didn't work for me. I ended up using the arnica gel after surgery and that worked really well. It also had some pain reliever in it, which felt kinda nice. My bruises were completely gone in about 3 weeks time.

I didn't have any bruising at all. I also took Bromelin before my breast augmentation, not sure if that's why I didn't bruise?? I guess everyone is different as far as bruising goes. Good luck, hopefully yours will be minimal.

Not every PS uses them. Even the ones who use them are a little skeptical of what they actually do. If you choose to take them on your own... just make sure you tell your PS about it.

Everyone is different. I think the fairer skinned you are the more apt you are to bruise. My bruising was not as severe as I thought it would be with my first breast augmentation. I was purple all around my areolas. With my re-do, I don't really have any.

I had the crease incision. I had NO bruising on my left and a TON on my right. I have my own theory as to why I had so much on my right. My right incision is 3/4 of an inch and my left (no bruising) is exactly an inch. So I'm thinking there was more force on my right breast trying to get the implant in. Just my opinion....

Tiffany, try the arnica gel. That worked well for me and it felt great too. Just follow the directions on the tube
