![]() | Return to Work?
I'm new here... hoping to soak up a TON of info before my breast augmentation scheduled 11/23. My question is this....... when did all of you return to work? I'm keeping this as private as possible---I've only told one person (well besides my husband!)... And I'm trying to do as much prep work now so that I dont have anything to do during the week that I am off of work. As I am reading; however, I am getting SCARED of the recovery and that I might need more time off!?!?!!? I work a desk job.. no real lifting, unless I need a client file but that is easily resolved by asking someone to get it for me if needed... but realistically what can I expect in a week? And in addition to that, my surgery is scheduled the Monday before Thanksgiving... will I be able to tolerate at least going to family for a short while on Thanksgiving day?? AHHHHHHHHH! Oh, and I havent had my sizing appointment yet (that is on Monday 11/16)... I do know from my orig consult in may that it will be silicone and unders with a crease incision.... Thoughts and ideas are WELCOME!! I have 2 kids--10 and 6--hoping to not disrupt them or give it away what is really going on if I can help it!! |

I can tell you right now...I'm 8 days post-op, also had full lifts with my breasts, and I'm feeling great. Only a little sore, but dont need any kind of pain pill for it or anything. I have a very physical job (I'm an operating toom nurse actually!) and have to do a lot of heavy lifting of instrument trays, some up to 20 lbs. So I took 2 full weeks off (ended up 18 days in total). But I TOTALLY feel at this point I could go back to work if I didnt have the lifting to do. HTH!

Hi we have the same surgery date! ![]() I originally requested a week off but because I work a physical job I got scared and added another week onto it. But I think with a desk job, you should be fine with one week. I know a few girls who only took the weekend off! I wouldn't worry. |

![]() | I got about a week and half off from work. My job requried no heavy lifting or anything of the sort. I felt much better after a week, which at 7 days post op my ps removed my stitches and did my first massage and it made a world of difference. We all heal differently GL and congrats!!

I also wore a suit jacket the first day to minimize my increased size, since I have also chosen to tell no one at work. Good luck!
