![]() | What did you wear....
Ok, so my surgery is in about 7 hours (can't sleep) and I'm still not sure what to take with me to the hospital. What did you wear during your ride home? Was it the same thing you came in? I'll be having multiple procedures done and want to make sure that I'm comfortable around the incision areas. By the way, I could eat a whale right about now.....sooooo hungry!

hmm, i wore something comfortable and black to the surgery and left with the same clothes. Is this same day surgery? But basically something like black yoga pants, lulumon or sweat pants that are easy to take off and put on. T- Shit, loose and comfortable, because you may leave with bindings underneath. Light zipper jacket Slip on shoes and socks. Comfortable underwear. Ponytail and no make up or jewellery. You are going to come out sooo high and out of it (well most do) that if you need to pee or move around, the less fussy and comfortable- the better. Plus every one reacts differently, and i needed help to get in or out of things. and it makes it easier for the person who has to get you out of your sweats or jacket as well. After my surgery, i could barely walk and just went straight home and slept. |

typical velour track suit w/ zip up top (you can't lift your arms over your head) panties no bra no make-up no nail polish (anesthesiology needs to see your nail color for oxygen levels) no piercing jewelry flip flops Just before surgery the nurse came in and put surgical stockings on my legs to prevent blood clots. I think that's it. I have no memory of getting dressed after surgery. My husband said he and the nurse dressed me. Good luck! Woot!

I wore a pair of shorts and a big black button up shirt. I also wore panties, but when I got back to the resort I think I took them off. Its so much easier not to have to pull them down and up for the bathroom! I took out all my piercings too. Anything loose that buttons or zips up is fine, and stretchy pants or shorts are best. Its hard to pull things up, and for the first couple of days it will even hurt to flush the toilet LOL.

I wore a chocolate brown zip up hoodie and sweatpants. Socks and slip on shoes. Comfy underwear and bra. When I arrived, they had me take everything off except my underwear and told me to put on one of those tie on robes and special non-slip socks. Everything I brought was put in a plastic bag for later. After surgery, they put my hoodie and sweatpants back on but that was it. Shoes, socks, bra all stayed in the sack to go home. Hope all goes well with your surgery!

Good luck! Multiple sugeries are hard, but you'll be great! I wore the largest sweatpants I could find and the largest zip up sweatshirt. Seriously, I dug deep for those items because I didn't want anything even close to my skin. And flip flops. No make up, jewelry, etc. Best of luck!!!!! |
