I do not want my DH to have to drag my daughter out in the morning to drop me off at the clinic. We will be staying at the in-laws (I am just saying I have an appt because I am not telling them) the night before and when the breast augmentation is done DH will come pick me up with baby and we will go back home (about an hour drive) I keep reading everyone's stories and it looks like everyone goes with someone. I was just planning on taking a cab with my bag and stuff there and getting picked up after. Is this bad?? |

I kept my breast augmentation a secret, to date I have only told one male friend about my . I was alone the day of surgery, of course I had a ride to the surgicenter but I told my ride that I was having a minor procedure done. My teenaged son took care of me the first two days after surgery, so to answer your question; it is possible to go alone if you are mentally prepared to do so... the surgicenter will not release you unless you have a ride home.. I hope this info helps

![]() | If you can handle going alone, then i dont see any reason why you shouldnt. But they will not let you go w/o someone to take you home. I could never have done it on my own so hats off to you! Good luck!

I am getting dropped off alone before the surgery as well. We have two kids to get off to school... One is old enough to get up and start getting ready on her own, the other we will drag to the van and hopefully have him sleep for the drive there. Then, DH will come home and finish getting them both ready for school and then drive back to the hospital to get me (an hour drive). I'm kind of sad that I'll be there alone before but there wasnt much for other options considering the timing of everything. Let's think of something to do while we are there alone waiting so that we wont be thinking about being alone! ;-)

Thanks everyone...He is for sure picking me up and honestly I might be happy not to have him there. He tends to drive me nuts in situations where I am waiting. Having the baby was one of them. During a contraction he would ask "what's wrong? Are you ok? what are you doing?" I am sure I will be scared and feel like barfing and crying but I have been able to do things all on my own many times so I think I will be ok. It's good to know a few others went in alone | |

my husband dropped me off and picked me up but honestly i wouldnt have cared if he dropped me off or not. he literally was there for 1 minute. all i did was sign some paperwork and then they admitted me right away and he couldnt go in anyways so it wasnt a big deal at all. just make sure he's there to pick you up and to give his info when you're being admitted.

As long as you have someone at home to care for you than its up to you weather or not you want to be alone before the surgery. I went with my cousin and my aunt, I just signed papers payed the final fee and had some random nervous chit chat about nothing important. My surgeon was running behind otherwise Im sure I wouldnt have even had the time to chit chat. Just make sure your hubby is gonna pick you up on time and you dont carry or lift anything. Goodluck!

I was alone. Not a big deal. If someone is there for you they can't be with you anyway so really, it doesn't matter much.

I was alone also, my dad dropped me at the door and then had to go home as he had my son with him and my mum and him were looking after him. I had to stay in over night aswell so I got picked up the next day. But I was fine, was a bit boring having no one to talk to, but I had tv and the nurses every so often

![]() | My hubby, mom, and little bro were seated in the waiting room~ I was there about 15 minutes before they took me back and it helped having someone there to comfort me and ease my mind. I don't think they would have had it any other way to be perfectly honest, lol. If you can do it alone then go for it! But someone does have to be there to pick you up, they gotta sign those dang forms~ GL! |

My dh drove me to the clinic with our toddler. It is about an hour and half away. We left very early which was disruptive to our 2 year old, but he was ok. I told them after they walked me to the office that he could go and get baby something to eat etc. So technically I waited alone, which I was fine with.It went so quickly. I think its fine to go on your own, along as you are comfortable with that. It helps if its your decision. You'll be picked up and cared for soon after- Good luck!

My mom dropped me off because she had to get back to help get my kids off to school. I didnt mind because I knew she would be back to pick me up. Besides my kids would have a fit if they would have had to stay home from school. I only waited in the waiting room for maybe all of 5 minutes before they called me to the back. So it wasnt so bad and I had friends and family calling to wish me luck so my phone calls actually kept me company .If you can handle waiting alone than go for it..Good luck on your upcoming breast augmentation. |

Well, I am going to try get dh to drop me off, but there is a good chance that I'll be taking a taxi.. it all depends on what's up with the job sites. I'm hoping his second in command can manage for an hour! Dh, will be too busy too stay, so he'll come pick me up when I'm done. It doesn't really bother me to think I'll have to go on my own, as long as I'm not taking a taxi back. Hey, I drove myself to the hospital when daughter #2 was born! What was I thinking.. Oh, just make sure the surgical centre has your hubby's cell # in case of emergency.

I don’t think so…. I had my hubby drop me off at the surgery center…. Not to much for them to do, and you are busy with paper work, nurses ect…. Take it easy after surgery, best of luck to you!

I pretty much did it alone. My mom went in with me until the nurse took me into the prep room...then my mom left and picked me up when it was all over. I didn't really think I needed anyone there with me. You will be sleeping once you go into the OR and won't know if anyone is there.

My DF couldn't take time off work, so I gave him a big hug&kiss and took a cab to surgery alone... I waited alone in the surgical suite for 1-2 hours... went into surgery alone everything alone... hired an assistant to pick me up and stay with me at home for the first few hours until DF got home from work. It all worked out. I wasn't nervous... but then again, I'm the type of person that would do such a thing alone and not even notice the difference. I think you'll be fine. |

Alone too! I had my daughter drop me off & pick me up (the dr office called her 1/2 hr before they thought I would be ready to leave). All was fine, I had to wait about 15 min and then I was taken in. DH works out of town, so, I had to go it alone! |

My hubby came in with me but I sent him off as soon as I was changed and settled. There were two other ladies getting surgery that morning and we shared the time together. Hubby came back and picked me up when I was awake. I think that you will be just fine if you do it the way that you describe |

I had a girl friend drop me off, from there I was alone. My bf couldnt get the day off of work. Its not so bad...its nice to have your support there, but if you feel comfortable with your doctor and nurses...some of them make you feel very comfortable like family, at least mine did, so I knew they would be emotional supportive pre/and post. I was out of it anyways lol. |
