Day 6 and no improvement?

Hi girls! I am on day 6 and am just wondering if you have had the same problem as me at this point. I feel like nothing has changed or improved. I am still just as swollen, tight, sitting up high, numb, and in pain. I do think the amount of pain has gotten better a little bit, but not much at all. I just thought by day 6, I'd at least have something that has gotten better. They look exactly the same. I can do a little bit around the house at least. I don't know if I'll be able to even make it back to work next week. Ugh, I'm so blue right now.

To make things worse, no one has been able to visit me because this is our second blizzard since my surgery date. Ugh!!

Awww, i know how you feel. I had a rough go of it after my 1st ba too. Everyone heals differently, and recovery is much easier for some girls than others. I was stiff and sore and had residual swelling for almost 5 weeks po, it sucked! Youve just got to let your body do its thing and heal at its own pace. Cant rush recovery, though it would be great if you could! Im sure being stuck inside and no visitors makes it even worse too. Hang in there, things will get better soon! Hugs!

Awww, thanks! Yeah, I figured I'd either get an easy or a difficult recovery, and I got the difficult recovery. I at least go in to my post op appointment tomorrow, so that will help to talk with my PS. I just hope to be able to make it back to work next week!

I am right there with you....Although I am only 2 days post op I feel just like you. I am still as tight and as swollen and the same amount of discomfort as surgery day!! Just know that you are not alone in all of this....I am right there with you. I am finding it very hard to sit still and relax. I am sending you a FR so that we can keep in touch!!! Hope you get to feeling better soon!!!

I hope things ease up for you! I felt horrible on day 2 and threw up what I ate. The hardest thing for me has been sleeping on my back in one position at night. I was a belly sleeper before, and it hurts my body to not be able to reposition myself! I slept okay last night though for once. Keep me updated!

That's funny that you say that about sleeping on your back.....I just told my husband how much I already miss sleeping on my side. I like to sleep on my side with my head on his chest!!! I don't sleep very well on my back feels like I am laying in a coffin!! Oh well I guess I will get used to it!!!!

Yeah it feels so weird to lay on your back! I can't cuddle with my boyfriend, and it makes me sad! I tried sleeping more flat on my back, which I found doesn't work well because I couldn't get up! I slept a little propped up last night.

Sorry to hear you are having such a rough recovery. Are you stretching at all? My PS told me to raise my arms up over my head several times a day to stretch the muscles. It really helps. I have actually stopped taking my pain medicine except for at night so I can sleep. I hate sleeping on my back as I am a side sleeper. I have actually slept on the couch so my husband can get some sleep. Hopefully your PO visit will give you some insight as to how your doing tomorrow.

I wish you were having a better recovery!! My day 6 was just blah.. I was a hunchback that hadn't slept, had a bruise the size of a softball on my butt from sitting in bed, still felt like drugged up and hungover w/no appetite..not too mention wayyyyy bloated and pmsing!!
BUT.. By around day 9 there was a huge difference, and I was comfortable driving, wearing a wireless, and doing things
just give it time hun!! Congrats on your girls!!

It's good to know others are having the same issues. I was hearing other people I know say they had it so easy. Here's to hoping we improve within several days!

I'm in the same position. still in a lot of pain. I was prescribed weak vicodins but taking 1 does nothing and two makes me feel sick.. and I can't really afford to try anything else so I've just been kinda dealing with the pain. Glad I'm not the only one. I see my PS today for post op I was fearing that it might be a sign of complication for me to be feeling this way still.

ahh Kerryout, so sorry you're still in so much pain. : ( I agree w/ another post on here, exercise those arms. I rolled mine, and moved them back like I was reaching for something behind me-very slowly of course. Might sound completely ridiculous but I also tried to meditate and invision my muscles relaxing and letting go. LOL probably didn't help at all..but I was really trying to get my right boob to relax and stop being such a pain. I've always been the type to work/move through the pain, and it's always worked for me...I notice that if I stay too still and lethargic the pain gets worse. Good luck at your post op, I hope you come out of it feeling better. : )
As for sleeping EVERY ps is diff. but I was told at around 1 week post op to sleep however I want!???? I still don't sleep on the belly outta fear (belly sleeper my entire life, accept during my 3 pregnancies) so far, I'm actually not bothered by the back/side sleeping. I have 3 big pillows all around me and it's like a little cacoon...haha. my DH laughs at me, but it works and I sleep fine. Ask your Ps if you can side/belly sleep. good luck.

Thanks girlies! I've been moving around the house and have been some things myself like getting drinks, making sandwhiches, opening the door to let the dog in/out, etc. Nothing too much, but I'm at least moving. I'm going to stretch a little more. I think this blizzard is just putting an extra damper on things.
