![]() | how does BA recovery compare to c-section?
Can anyone give me an idea? I was walking around the hospital less than 12hrs after my c/s and had a very easy recovery. Reading the stuff my dr just gave me about breast augmentation recovery and hearing what my friends said makes it seem so much worse! Can it be?

Great question! I have not got my breast augmentation yet, but have had 2 C sections. I was wondering the same thing. Curious about the answers you will get.

I've had 2 c-sections and although I had smooth deliveries with both; I would not say that breast augmentation (I also had a lift) was worse. On a scale from 1-10, I would rate the pain a 3 to 4. I would have to say the worse thing I experiened with my breast surgery was the muscle soreness in my torso/ab area. Hope this helps.

I had 2 c-sections and I am 3 weeks post op with my breast augmentation and the breast augmentation so much easier! The pain a worst was maybe a 3/4. It wasn't that painful at all. I'd rather get a breast augmentation than a c-section anyday!! HTH

I would say about the same. I had it really easy with my C section, I can't remember much pain at all, just vague discomfort. I've had 2 BAs now (2nd was revision of first) and both, at their worst, were 6 on the pain richter scale. I've had worse headaches, seriously. And I am a big p*ssy when it comes to pain

I guess I am the odd ball..... my first breast augmentation was extremely excruciating. I thought my PS was exaggerating when he tried preparing me for the paid I was going to experience. My were put in under the muscle so I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I also had 3 C-Sections before my first breast augmentation and they were definitely a breeze. I figured that because I did so well with them that my breast augmentation would have been pretty comparable. Hopefully your experience is one of the less painful ones! Good Luck!

Hmmm...that's a toughie. They're very different recoveries IMO. My (2) c-sections were pretty painful the first 3 days, but I felt pretty good soon after, and by 2 weeks was pretty much back to normal, but tired, but then again I had a newborn keeping me up all hours, attached to my boobs lol. I'd say my breast augmentation recovery was less "painful", and more like tight discomfort, and for a much longer amount of time. I didn't really feel back to normal for many weeks. HTH

Oy...I'm jealous of you girls. My c-section was a nightmare! I was on bedrest leading up to it, though, and I'm sure that affected the recovery. I'm hoping my breast augmentation/BL won't be as bad. Wishful thinking, I guess. I really need a TT too, but I can't stand the thought of another abdominal surgery.

To me its just 2 completely different kinds of surgery and I find it hard to compare I have had 4 c sections first was the most painful for I labored for 18 hours first so intense muscle soreness for a few days and had trouble walking upright but honestly I think my breast augmentation was worse not pain wise but I had such intense pressure for a week after my breast augmentation so I have to say it was worse for me and then I can add that my pocket revision has been more painful then my breast augmentation was for me had no idea the pain I would have with this and I have high pain tolerance but everyone is different in how they heal and recovery rate part of my problem is too many surgery's in the last couple of years so I think I am kinda not recovering as fast have already had both knees and both shoulders and sinus surgery within 2 years.

I've had 2 c/s and I would say the pain was much worse than my breast augmentation. The breast augmentation pain is different, the worst of it only lasts about 2 days then its pretty easy. The c/s pain was brutal, and lasted alot longer. Id take a breast augmentation over a c/s surgery anyday!

I agree that they are two completely different kind of pain and recoveries. I had my C-section when I was 21 and that recovery was a breeze. I definitely had a harder time with soreness and discomfort than with the recovery of my breast augmentation. I've even said it a few times that it's soo much worse than having a c-section. I'm sure that my next c-section won't be so easy.
