![]() | periareolar incision - how long til it looked good?
My PS wants to do the periareolar incision. I'm ok with that and have seen lots of pics with great results, but still a little nervous. How long until the scar looks healed like the nice pics I've seen? How does it look after a week or two, and were your husbands/so freaked out? Speaking of which, when can you have sex again?

More than likely you will have steri-strips on for at least the first week. My ps took the strips off at my 2 week appt. When the strips were on it looked like my areolas were getting squeezed out and that freaked me out just a little. After they were taken off, you see the dissolvable stiches and the skin is puckered around the stiches but once they dissolve and the implants D&F then it should be smoothed out. I'm 18 days post-op and the puckering has already started to smooth. Parts of my stiches have already dissolved and I'm pinkish in those areas. It can take up to a year for a scar to fade completely. HTH

I had stitches for the first 6 days, then they were removed and I kept the steri strips on for 2 weeks. I thought they looked very noticable, they were red and raised in some areas, but everyone I showed didn't even notice them and was waiting for me to show them a crease or transax incision! They were really noticable in my bathroom mirror where the lighting is extremely harsh, but in the bedroom where we have lamps they looked much better. At my one month post op I got to start massaging the incisions which has helped to break up the raised areas and they just keep looking better from it. I wore a cami or bra the first few times I had sex with my bf just bc I didn't want them to get in the way. But my bf was never alarmed by the incisions, at first I didn't want to show him, I was afraid he'd think I looked deformed, but on day 2 or 3 he just bursted in on my shower to see for himself and his eyes popped out of his head with lust. I'm very happy with my decision!
