Bad Consult Friday Hope next one is better

I went to a consult with a DR. that gives free consults to find out the risks to make sure that there was nothing that I didn't already know about. I also have another consult with a PS tomorrow, his cost is 80 but I am sure that he is the one I am going to use as he comes hightly recommended. Well needless to say the lady I met on Friday was AWFUL

She was absolutely rude. First her nurse came in and asked my health history then she came in and asked the same questions, don't the communicate.

Then she said well the first thing is to think about how you are going to pay for this and then when you can take a week off of work. I let her know that neither of those things were and issue. She said well then go home and pad your bra for a couple of weeks to get used to the size that you think you will want to be and wear it everywhere. Then when you feel comfortable with it schedule another consult to discuss size/risks, etc. I said well that is why we are here now we are curious to the risks and percentages, that is what will let me know if we are going to move ahead. She said well I won't go over that with you today that is not what this consult if for.

My hubby says well I don't want her to get one cuz I am worried about the risks, that is why I came so I could see what they are. She says to him well I am not the referree

We never said we needed one. Then he says well when can we come back for that consult and she says I don't do scheduling so you'll have to ask up front, now my nurse will come back in and give you prices.

Needless to say the appointment was pointless, and oh yea by the way she was 50 minutes late for this useless appointment. What a royal waste of time. Now my hubby was agrivated and isn't going with me tomorrow. I'm on my own. He's supportive to a point but hates wasting time more than most.

Ugh!! What an awful consult! How does that Dr. keep any patients if she acts like that with anyone? Well, I hope your next one goes much better. It's bound to - couldn't get much worse.

Wow! That really sucks. I would have been so bad at that doctor for wasting my time. I'm sure that your consult will go better on Monday. Let me know how it goes.

Yeah those free consults tend to not go well. My experience with the ones that you pay for are usually good. These DR.s charge you but apply whatever they charged for the consult toward your surgery if you go with them. They tend to be really serious about what they do and know what they are talking about.

With you paying a fee they know you are serious too and are not just gathering info or window shopping wityhout intent on being serious.

Sorry that went so bad. I've never heard of any PS acting like that on a consult. A consult is to answer all your questions and ease your mind before you schedule your breast augmentation. What a bitty! Good luck with your next consult!

Hello,that was a very bad consultation. I would definetly not do any business with them. My consultation was FREE and My dr. & his staff treated us with the upmost respect.They took their time and anwsered all our questions and concerns. My dr. (Dr. Cummings from Kinston,NC). By the time my sister and I left we were very pleased with all the information that was given to us.It last almost 1 hour maybe a little more,he did not rush us at all. Hopefully your next consultation will be a lot better & professional.Good Luck.

Wow! I would be pretty annoyed too! That sucks...my consult was kinda similar but not as bad...mine didn't want to talk at all about the implants, just gave me a basic overview of the procedure...which obviously I had researched before even choosing to do this!

I really think that initial consult is all about the $$$$ they just want to qualify you to make sure that you can pay...THEN they will take the time to talk!

I am so sorry your consult wasn't helpful. It is too bad your DH won't give it another try.

I had 5 free consults and one that cost $50. Only one of the free consults was a waste of time. The PS I chose was one of the free consults!! The one that cost was a close second.

I would run from that office! I paid $50 for my first consult and had an "oogy" feeling when I left there. I knew I didn't need the procedure he was suggesting. I went back to the drawing board and found Dr. Cohen. I paid $100 for his consult. It was well worth it. He knew his stuff. Everything he said was exactly what I had found in research (unlike the other Dr.) He was genuinely concerned about my wants and needs and took all the time I needed. I knew from the minute I met him that he was the PS for me. I've read and been told that you will just know when you have found the right PS. That was certianly true for me. If anyone lives in AZ and is looking for a PS, I HIGHLY recommend him. (not to mention, he is totally hot! LOL!)

Oh gosh I would have been so upset!! I only went on 2 consults but both consults were very thorough, tried on sizers and went through all risks and many other details.

I hope your next consult turns out better.

That's terrible! I would have been rude right back and tell her I don't know how she even gets patients because she's such a B**** and then walk out.

Now see, at this point in my life, THAT type of attitude would prompt me to (first find another PS), write her a very matter-of-fact letter after you get yours done, who you went with, and how fast word-of-mouth (especially negative) travels.
She would be getting every non-recommendation that I could pass out in the area.
That was rude, unprofessional, and IMO she qualifies as a total jerk. Way to bring in the clients! (sarcasm).

Thank you for all of your support. I had a GREAT consult today with the doctor that my friend recommended, should of just went to him all along. Well anyway I have left a message with his nurse to set up a surgery and fitting date. I am waiting to hear back. I am super excited.
