| Large Breast Implants This forum will be for discussing implants that are 700cc or larger. Although 700cc may not seem large to some, they are, generally, considered a larger size. |

Is it different with expanders. Meaning, it's not a silicone bag that has saline in it, right? If there was an implant with that many CC's in it--how would it fit. That is something I have never heard of. Pardon my ignorance on the subject...can you explain what an expander is for me. I know they are often used in reconstruction for breast cancer patients. But I have never heard of it being used in another individual. Thanks!

I am new here, so correct me if I am wrong, but the purpose of this forum is for us to converse with one another and share insight and opinions. We post on here to see what other people have to say. Which mean, we might not necessarily like it, but we open that door for it just by posting on here. Like everyone has said on here already. We all come from a different place in more ways than one. If you feel strongly about your decision, than no one's opinion should make a difference and just walk on. This is a forum I have come to know as a "sisterhood" if you may. We don't mean harm, so we need to be careful not to harm back.

Wow Cara, You look amazing. Good for you! Just one question, were you in pain after having the saline added because you went bigger? I just had my redo two days ago. My implants are high (even higher than my armpits), extremely tight (I need some relief as they feel like they are going to burst out) and hard as a rock (or a cantaloupe really). Were yours high as well when you first got them? Did you have any pain? How long did it last? I just thought that redos were easier than a first breast augmentation. Yeah, right. Not for me! What is your experience? |

Does it change your posture, having very large implants? (well I suppose you've got some wicked abs to hold yourself up...) I wondered since you are clearly very fit, if it's difficult on your back or anything like that. Was it difficult to get used to? I'd like to go larger (probably just 500-600 but still) in a couple of years, but I've got crap posture and I'm half worried about it making it worse. I had a hunch this would be a good place to ask. Also, you don't appear to have stretch marks (lucky thing!) I know a lot of that is just genetics and chance but I was wondering if you'd used anything to prevent them. 'Cause I'd promptly get myself some of that! Thanks for posting this, I'm somehow drawn in with curiosity. |

I think this female bodybuilder has(had?) 1000cc. She used to have her own web-page and listed the names of PSs who she's had her BAs. Because of the size of implants, she's had to go through several PSs to get the size she wanted. Although I wasn't keen on or opt for getting large implants for myself, I thought that her journals on getting bigger implants, training tips and nutrition advise for bodybuilders etc were very informative. Wish I can find the link but seems the page's gone or something. FYi, her latest pics are found in here. http://contest.bodybuilding.com/bio/7596

I really admire how Cara is very knowledgeable on her breast- look wise and how expanders work, - shes not one of those chicks that just want to have 1000cc's from the 1st try. She knew that she had to wait over time to achieve that look. Geez, how do u find a bra that fits? What size is that do u consider? How do u not get stretch marks! Wow, what a brave person u are!

Mine were extremely high and tight both from my original augmentation (since I had nothing) and my redo to bigger. VERY high and tight, and very shiny. Felt like they'd burst! Eventually though - they DO come down and the good thing about having this type of anatomy is that they'll stay firm longer (less sag, etc.). Redos are usually easier but not for people going alot bigger and with very tight skin. Lots of luck! ~c

![]() | I work on my posture constantly - it is something I try to always be aware of. You can too! It's the single easiest thing we can all do to look better - stand up straight!. Thanks for the kind words, I really try. And FYI - 1600cc's to 2000cc's - I know it sounds like just so much. Just don't be so hung up on 'numbers'. I don't really know how to explain it, other than to say, once you have nothing - and then you're augmented - that's a jump right there. And going from say, 300cc's to 700cc's (if you're petite) - that's going to be pretty obvious there. But I feel like, once you cross the 800cc mark, because the implants grow in every direction (not just straight out), the it takes more and more to make any noticeable difference. I really don't know who to explain it, other than I know girls with 1500cc's and while they're fuller, they're not that much 'bigger' than me even though their implants are 50% larger. |

So no back problems then? That's a powerful statement for posture playing a huge role in it all. The numbers do sound startling but I think I get what you mean. Once you take the leap it's just not so dramatic going from the shallow end to the deeper. (so to speak) I think you look great as is but that's only from my perspective. Besides, it's obvious you know what you're doing. Can implants be specially made to accommodate these larger sizes or is over-filling the only option at present? There's clearly a market for larger implants and it seems a shame if they don't manufacture them. Did you do anything for your skin along the way to avoid stretch marks? I seemed to get the lousy end of genetics and luck and I tend to get stretch marks but I'm always looking for ideas. Thanks for answering all these questions, Cara.

Cara, this may be a little off subject but I wanted some advice from someone with experience when it comes to the expander type of implant. I am looking at having a lollipop lift and breast augmentation done at the same time but my surgeon feels that to achieve the size I want (36FF) that it would be too much strain to put that large of an implant in at the same time that he does the lift. SO what he proposed is the lift and the use of a Mcghan expander. I would be given a healing period for the lift and then I would have weekly visits to add saline until my desired size is reached. I kind of like the idea of this but would like a little more info on the expander. First off are there any major cons to this type of implant as it almost seems to good to be true? How easy is it to access the filler port and what do they do with the port after you are satisfied? Also I saw that you said that you have had your expanders for 5 1/2 years so obviously durability is not a problem? ANY help or advice you have for me would be greatly appreciated. ALSO good luck with getting the implants you want!!! |
