jdibby update please read ladies

Well I had my edoscopy this morning, but the gastroenterologist pretty much diagnosed me before I even had the procedure. I was given doxycycline as my antibiotic after my surgery (as i am allergic to penecyllin). Aparently it is a very acidic medication and MUST be taken with lots of water. I guess the last dose I took on sunday night I must have only taken with a very very small sip of water. Needless to say the pill sat in my esopagus dissloved and literally erroded my esopagus, and now it is covered in ulcers. I am happy I am getting discharged here in a few hours. Though I still cannot eat at all really. I have to drink lidocaine syrup before even drinking. I will be living on boost and protein shakes while this heals up in 5-7 days.
I just wanted to inform you ladies so you make sure you drink plenty of water with your pills, especially the doxycycline if it is prescribed to you. Don't want any of you ladies to end up in this painful situation.

Oh man, so sorry this happened to you. I took doxycycline for a long period of time for acne. Make sure you take it with a full glass of water AND you must stay upright (either sitting up, standing, but NOT laying flat) for at least 30 minutes after taking it. Hope things heal quickly for you!

Awe man. I'm allergic to neosporene. I found that out when I got my boob job. I was putting it on them as instructed and they just started getting really red and swollen and leaked puss alot. It was really bad. I feel like such a wuss being allergic to neosporene though. I hope you get better soon. Your boobs look great btw.

Ouch! I hope you heal up fast. Didnt you feel it happening, or was it one of those things where by time you felt it it was already too late?

I took the pill right before I went to bed on sunday night. I only took it with a small sip of water. The pill sat in my esopagus all night and literaly just erroded it. I also took my morning dose also a few hours later with only a small sip of water. So I did the damage twice over. BIG MISTAKE!
I feel like a azz, cause it said on the paper that came with it to take with a 8oz glass of water and stay upright for 30 minutes. I did not read the paper that came with it. Won't do that again.
