Can any UK ladies share their PS recommendations with me?

Hi, I'm in the UK and finding it really hard to get information on different surgeons, of course all the companies' websites just promote themselves.
I'm thinking of booking a consultation with BUPA at their Edinburgh hospital since it's near me, however the consultation will cost £150.
Then you have to have the procedure within 3 months or have another consutation.
BUPA say that this is better cos then the PS is not just trying to sell you a product, since they get a fee for their time.
But I'd like to compare surgeons I think, at least have a couple of consultations? What do people think? Did you all pay for your consultations? HOw many did you have?
And most importantly, can anyone recommend their UK surgeon?

Cheers, Claire x

Hi Claire

I paid £120 for my first consultation with CAPIO, they only booked me 10 minutes with the PS and I wanted to talk about having not just a breast augmentation but lift and upper/lower eyelid lifts. He spent about 30 minutes with me but kept leaving me to go and see other patients. I was totally uphappy with this and decided not to go to him. Then my beauty therapist recommended Transform to me. She had a breast augmentation in November and her twin daughters had breast augmentation's as a 21st birthday pressent. She was very thrilled with the results for all of them. At Transform you don't pay for your consultation with the consultant. At no time did my consultant try to sell anything to me. Infact I wanted Liposuction as well and he told me that I did not need it. I carried on with my diet/excercise programme and by the time my surgery was near the PS was right I did not need the lipo.

I would recommend my PS he was fantastic. He really took his time at my fist consultation and explained everything to me. I was still undecided about size and asked to see him again a month before surgery and again he went through everything with me. On the day of my surgery he came to see me to mark me up and take photgraphs. He stayed with me for ages answering all of my questions and concerns. My results so far are fantastic I am so happy. The scarring on my eyes has almost gone (I am 10 days post op) my breasts look fantastic, incision on nipple has a lot of healing to do yet, but I am so pleased with the results. The surgeon's name is Mario Russo, he was on the cosmetic surgery live series. If my daughter needed a breast augmentation when she was older then I would let Mr Russo do it, because I would trust him with her care. There is also another small bonus HE IS SO SEXY AND GORGEOUS!!!!

In terms of Transform themselves I cannot praise them enough. They are totally professional and so caring. The hospital Abbey Pines in Manchester so clean, my private room was lovely and comfy and the standard of nursing care is excellent. They looked after me so well, I have never felt so safe and cared for in my whole life. The after care is also excellent. I realise that Manchester is a long way for you to travel but I think they have a clinic in Edinburgh for consultations.

I hope you manage to find a consultant who you are happy with because it is so important to have confidence in the surgeon. If you want any more info I would be happy to talk to you. If you Private Message me then I can give you my contact info

Good Luck

Hugs

Hi Claire

Forgot to say my hubbie did not want me to have mine done either, but guess what? He loves them and can't keep his hands off me!!!!

Also at Transform you can see lots of different surgeons all for free and they have info on each surgeon. They will arrange for you to see examples of the surgeons work and let you talk to patients. But I can show you examples of my surgery if you would like me to.

I live miles away from you but i can recommend mine, who was recommended to me, everyone was on recommendation, and there is only one complication i have heard from, about 6 girls down the line if you understand what i mean, then he did the correction free of charge with the girl awake (local) so she could see what was going on ( i think she was slightly uneven)anyhow, the consultation is free, no timelimit on surgery date, plus they do 'special prices' for not so common times of year, mainly summer and christmas time...total price (including everything and overnight stay) £3500, Mr Azhar Aslam, he works in Huntingdon, Cambs and Harley Street plus appears on Uk Living Makeover programme...i had to change hospitals because of an allergy problem and he arranged to meet me at this hospital (not one he usually works at, but he found it for me, arranged his operating time before theirs started) and got all the taxi fares there and back (about 160 miles) all free of charge for me....prob not for you b/c of location, but he deserves a mention !

Hi, I can recommend my surgeon too, I used the Hospital Group, through the referral of Why Go Abroad For Surgery (google it for the website and price list).

The consultation was £49, deductable from the surgery price if you go ahead, and if you dont like the first surgeon you meet with they send you to someone else for free.

It cost me £3495 and my surgeon, Mr Schiavone was fantastic, very professional and knowledgeable and I've got no complaints. The surgery was done in Birmingham, lovely hospital in the countryside, comfortable rooms etc.
They do consultations in various places around the country too.

Good luck

Hi FlatGirl21

I am from Middlesex but had my surgery abroad therefore can't be of help on the recommendation bit. If you aren't looking to have surgery too soon then maybe it is an idea to have a few free consultations and then when you have saved up and your bf has come round to the idea then perhaps look into having the a paid consultation. This way you will have a few surgeons to compare and not be pushed into making a quick decision.

Hope this helps.

Sana

I also had my surgery with the hospital group last wednesday. My surgeon was Dr Straten and i agree the hospital was lovely, wonderfully clean and very luxurious.

i didnt have more than one consult but i did talk to and research very many places in the UK before seeing Dr Straten for my consult at the clinic near my home... the consult was free, no obligation and my patient care co-ordinator Sara Goulding (who is an angel) then spent a good hour with me chatting and trying on sizes etc.

i found even though the hospital group werent the cheapest place in the UK they seemed to me to offer the best aftercare packages, pre op care and post op and also the consult with a surgeon rather than a bloody nurse.

my op cost me £4149 and that includes 5 years aftercare, so any complications or things that dont go right will be fixed free of charge. my future consults after the op will be done at my clinic in nottingham and i will see the surgeon there again.

i have already recommended a friend of mine to them for a reduction and she is very happy so far. Sara is very attentive and calls me all the time to check im ok. she also has had a breast augmentation herself and was happy to talk to em about it and her experiences.

i can honestly say that Hospital Group are by far the best clinic i came across.

what i did is call and get brochures from all the places with quotes and then picked out 3 i liked best and rang again to get more details about aftercare, prices, implants available etc etc and hospital group struck me as the best.

they pick you up in a chauffeur driven car to take you to hospital if required and also take you home in the same vehicle. i didnt use the service as i had my fiancee to take me but i felt that was a lovely touch and showed their level of care.

feel free to pm me for any details ive left out!

I'm more than happy to recommend my surgeon, Riccardo Frati, but PLEASE be very careful if you go via the WHY GO ABROAD group - I went with them and have had nothing but trouble with their administration, and their director is the rudest, most obnoxious woman I have ever come across - she's fine while she's taking your money, but as soon as you have a complaint - watch out! Oh, and at almost 9 months post op, I'm STILL waiting for my 3 month post op appointment - despite many letters and phonecalls!!!

I'd recommend avoiding them at all costs!!!!

Hi hun!!

There are a few of us on here who have used Transform.

Boxerlou & myself both had Mr Singh for our breast augmentation's- he really is fantastic & I will back up Loulou's praises for Transform also.

Mr Singh also works privately, which would save you about £1000, but I dont know what aftercare, guarantees you get. Whereas witas Transform, everything is all inclusive, follow ups & any procedures if things like CC occur, within 3 0r 5 years.

Consults are free & they dont try to sell you anything.

They also do a recommend a friend scheme, so if you do book with them, I can send you a voucher which goves you £100 off & I also get something for recommending you lol.

My breast augmentation cost £3450, I had mine as a day case.

The whole experiance has been fab, my onl downer was I wished I had done ot years ago.

Go for a few consults with diff places & choose the one you feel comfortable with.

Good luck!!x

Oh yeah - I didnt have the full £3450 saved. I had 1/2 in savings & I put the rest on a 0% credit card & paid a little off each month.

Transform do finance but it's like any loan, the interest can add up.

Recommendations

Hi Claire

I'm having mine done this Wednesday in London. Must say it involved a lot of looking around and visiting places and talking to surgeons. However, depending where you go and who you go through, you dont always pay for a consultation. many of the 'clinics' offer free consultations, but be careful, not all of them but a good many just want to take your money and then 'to hell with you' so to speak! I remember sitting in one reception area with a girl (must of been in her early twenties) and her Mum and she was obviously in a lot of discomfort and so I of course asked why and her Mum told me that her op had been done badly and that she was really having probs with the implant and the surgeon and the clinic, they werent interested in her whatsoever. Just becareful ok.

I'm having mine done at the Welbeck Hosp in London. The consultant, a Mr Patrick Whitfield is as nice as can be and very interested, obliging, caring and helpful. The patient care lady called Hannah is is also very pleasant - but of course, we shall see on Wednesday - I will keep you updated.

BUPA of course are very good and if I hadnt of made my mind up with the above, I would certainly have it done at my local BUPA hospital, but as you so rightly mention - they do charge a consultation fee!

Booked a consultation!

Hi girls

I've booked a free consultation with Transform's Edinburgh clinic for next Wednesday, just as part of research really as don't have the money yet.
Still kind of nervous/excited though, never done this before!
Gonna go to as many consultations as possible to get a good range of surgeons' opinions and of course compare them!
Then I might go to a couple of charged consults as well closer to the time I intend to get my breast augmentation done.
Thanks for all your advice!
