YES! I used him and L-O-V-E-D him. He is wonderful! He has his own practice and has a surgical suite, so everything is done right there. I knew from the minute I met him that he was MY PS! I felt very safe in his presence, if that makes any sense. There was just an immediate feeling of comfort and safety. I had seen another PS (Dr. Farnworth in Awatukee) for a consult and I just felt really unsettled when I left there. I felt rushed through the consult. I felt embarassed to disrobe and show him my chest. That PS just gave me the willies. LOL! I went back to the drawing board and started researching online. Something kept bringing me back to Dr. Cohen's website. I finally called his office and set up a consult. The minute I walked into the office, I knew it was the right place. I felt at home. I describe it as the "warm fuzzies". His staff is wonderful! They are all so warm and friendly and will do anything for you. Dr. Cohen and his staff really make me feel like I am their only patient. He is very gentle and has a wonderful bedside manner. At my consult, pre-op and every post-op appt., Dr. Cohen has taken his time with me and answered all my questions. I've seen him every visit and not an assistant. After all the research I had done, I knew when I talked with him that he knew his stuff. His CV and credentials are quite impressive. Have you looked at his website yet? Check out the article about BAs not being "Vanity Surgery".(It's under "News & Events") I'm the patient he is referring to. It really touched me that he would write about me. http://www.scottsdalecenterforplasticsurgery.com He was named one of the Top Docs in the PHX area for 2007. http://www.scottsdalecenterforplasti...-docs-2007.cfm I've had a few complications, in that my body rejected the permanent stitches that I had (I also had a breast lift) and they have just been wonderful through it. They've called to check on me several times. That is amazing to me and makes me feel wonderful. I've never had a Dr. and his staff care so much about me and my needs. DEFINATELY set up a consult with him! If you go to his website, you can print off a coupon for $50 off his consult fee. I just KNOW you will love him. Tell him I recommended you(My name IS Carol Anne, BTW, LOL). My breast augmentation/BL has been so hush-hush with my family, friends and church family(my husband is a pastor), that I don't get to recommend very many people to him. BTW, Mary(office manager), Terri (OR nurse), & Courtney(front office) are just WONDERFUL & AMAZING people! I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you may have. You can reply here or PM me if you like. Last edited by Admin; 02-20-2008 at 01:42 PM. |

Hi CarolAnne - Wow! I totally found Dr. Cohen the same way. I had an unsettling consult with another Scottsdale PS and went back to the drawing board to find a surgeon. I didn't like ANY of the work I was seeing until I came to Dr. Cohen's site. Like you said - something about the website caught my eye. Just from the website I got the warm fuzzy feeling...like when you find "the one." Hahaha. I'm not sure if it was the amazing before/after pics or the detailed descriptions of each case or the thank you cards but something is very comforting about his website. Anyway, I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Cohen and very nervous but excited. www.justbreastimplants.com/Cohen/ Last edited by Admin; 02-20-2008 at 01:42 PM. |

Oh, and Dr. Farnworth told me that I needed a lollipop lift. He didn't even talk about the other types of lifts. I knew I didn't need a lollipop lift. He told me I had tubular breasts and that he wouldn't know how much tissue he would have to remove, that it was just something you have to figure out in the OR. My consult with him was no more than 10 mintues, tops and it cost me $50. I know I would have ended up with a botched surgery, had I gone to him. Dr. Cohen was night and day from this guy. He took his time with me and spent lots of time discussing the procedures, he even drew pictures for me, so I could get a visual. I knew he knew what he was talking about. Hi Carrolanne, My name is Robyn, and I am new to this post. I have been researching breast augmentation and saw that you had yours done by Dr. Robert Cohen. I have a consultation with him on September 25th. I am glad to hear that everything went well with your breast augmentation/BL,except for the stitches part. I hope that they healed up nicely. It was very reassuring to hear that he is really nice as well as his staff. When I first went to his website, I was very impressed as well. It seems like he definitely has his act together. Anyway, my stats are that I am 5'6,112 pounds,29 inch rc,34A. I have been reading a lot about the different cc's and was thinking that around 300 cc's may be my best bet, since I am on the small side. I want silicone unders so I can have a natural look. My husband DOES NOT want me to be too big. I would like to be a high B low C. I'm hoping 300 gets me there. Can you give me any information about how Dr.Cohen does things. I heard that he uses sizers in surgery, so maybe you will end up with a different size, or does the patient have a big say so in the process. Also, how many consults did you have with him b4 surgery? Any info you could give me would be really appreciated. Last edited by Admin; 02-20-2008 at 01:44 PM. |

Hi Robyn, I am 5'8" and have 29in. ribcage (34 band) as well. I do have more weight on me, though. I am currently 128 pounds, which is really slim for me, but I am 2" taller than you, too. I got 300ccs and am a small C cup. Dr. Cohen swears I am a full B, but all my bras are Cs. LOL! I had very little breast tissue and got a small C with 300cc, so if you have more tissue, then you will probably be very happy with 300ccs. Remember that augmented breasts tend to look smaller than natural breasts, so don't go too small. Also, unders will take away about 15% of your size. I do know that Dr. Cohen's personal goal for PS is to make things look as natural as possible. Silicone will give you the most natural look and he will most likely do partial unders. He does use sizers in the OR. When I went in, we discussed me not wanting to be too big because I needed to be discreet with my breast augmentation. Because my DH is a pastor, we couldn't tell anyone, so I couldn't come out with huge knockers, KWIM? I basically left it in his hands to give me what he thought would look the best, as far as proportion for my body, but would still allow me to be discreet about the whole thing. He told me he would use sizers, but he thought I would need 300ccs. He was right. He said he used a smaller sizer in the OR, but it just didn't look right and so he went with 300ccs. I'm glad he didn't go smaller. My breasts are very proportionate for my size. They are completely night and day from what I started with. I didn't know very much about the whole process when I started, so I pretty much relied on his knowledge. He has a full stock of implants in his office, so you won't have to pre-order. If you guys aren't sure of what size you want, for example if you think you want 300, but *might* want 375, then he can decide in the OR, using the sizers and make the call then. You DO have a big say in what he does. He won't just do what he thinks. When you go in for your consult, he will listen to all your concerns and what you think you want and then he'll tell you what he thinks is best, or give you different options, but ultimately it will be up to you. He wants to make you happy. Before surgery, I saw him once for a consult, then my pre-op. I just knew that he was the PS for me that day and didn't feel that I needed to see him for anything else, other than my pre-op. He is very thorough in his consults and will take his time with you and listen to everything you have to say and answer any questions you may have. I felt like everything was covered and I had an overwhelming sense of comfort and safety with him. I'm sure if you feel you need a second consult, he would be happy to see you. You will love his staff. Mary is such a sweetheart. She is his office manager and you will see her after your consult, when you get your quote. Terri, his nurse is awesome as well. You've probably already spoken to Courtney if you set up a consult. They are all amazing people. When you go in for your consult, he will take pics that day, so be prepared. I wasn't thinking he would do it then, but it was fine, because I felt so at ease with him that it didn't bother me at all. Tell Dr. Cohen I said hello. Watch out for those brown eyes! LOL! They'll draw you in. Let me know how it goes. If there is anything specific that I can help you with or that I didn't answer here, just let me know. I am happy to help. BTW, I have healed up nicely. Thanks for asking. Last edited by Admin; 02-20-2008 at 01:45 PM. |

Thanks so much Carolanne for responding. It's good to know someone else who has had to same doctor as I will . I am pretty sure he is the PS for me and I am already looking so forward to the consult and getting" this show on the road." I am hoping for a surgery date at the end of November or early December. I will keep you posted on how the consult went. Thank you again for your advice. Everybody on the forum is especially helpful, and I will let you know if I have anymore questions.

Hands down, great doctor, I love Dr. Cohen! The whole surgery was such a smooth process as well as my recovery (minus the part when I got my period 2 days after lol) And I love Mary and Tonia (office staff). I think I was calling twice a day at one point for a few days prior and after the surgery and they were always so sweet and patient with me and answered all my questions. I have already referred two friends of mine and they're already planning on scheduling the surgery with him, and they haven't had their consultations yet!

I also got my period 2 days after my surgery. It came like a full week early! Is that common with surgery? I remember being so swollen from the surgery itself and then getting extra water weight gain from my period- it was torture!

I LOVE Dr Cohen and his staff as well. I knew since my consultation that he was the doctor for me. Everyone is so friendly and professional, and CarolAnne is right... they do make you feel like you're their only patient. He goes for a natural look, which I love. I have had quite a few girls ask for his number/website because they like my results so much!

He is probably who I am gonna go with. His website just pulled me in, I too have a reallyyy good feeling about him. I have a question for you ladies who have gone with him.. when you went in and saw him and discussed what size you wanted did you bring in a lot of pictures? And be descriptive? Like I have a few pictures I wanna show him of what I like, and then I wanna tell him that I am hoping to be a full DD. Do you think that will work? |

For my consultation, I didn't bring in any pics (I did at my pre-op) but we did discuss size. I wanted a full D, closer to a DD. He will tell you straight off that he won't do it if it will make you look bad. Like, are you willing to go a little smaller than you desire if the size you want is making your skin stretch too much? He hates the "beach ball" look and tries to give you a very natural appearance. He tried 500, 550, and 600cc with me. The 500cc were too small and the 600cc began to stretch my skin, so I got a 550cc. He has a GREAT eye. Good luck to you!

When I went in, I told Dr. Cohen that I wanted a full B. I said maybe a very small C. The implants I had before were too big in my opinion and I didn't want anything near that ever again! Now, many people would say that they weren't too awfully large (the were 500cc and I am 5'4" and 105 lbs) but I wanted a sleeker look in clothing vs. sexy and felt that less was more. He totally agreed. We talked about going with 300-350 and possibly 375 when I told him that I would prefer a small C after all. We did end up going with 375 and it really looks perfect in my opinion. Dr. Cohen has such a good eye for what looks beautiful on each person's body and I really trusted him to make the final decision with the sizers during surgery. Yesterday I went in for bra sizing at Victoria's Secret (I've been weraing IPex bras in 32c but the straps are lifting off my shoulders and the sides of the cups are gapping, as if the band is too large) and was told that I actually measure perfectly at a 30d. Of course this means my "sister size" is a 32c but I've never had much luck with "sister sizes" fitting very well. So, this surprised me a little but I couldn't be any happier about my breasts and wouldn't change a single thing! I think possibly high profile implants measure differently for bra sizes? Maybe? |

I concur with the ladies above. Maybe go ask the other ladies in our "Body By Cohen" group, if you don't get many responses here. I know some of the girls did take pics in. Dr. Cohen does have a great eye for what looks best on each person's frame, as you can see by the pics on his website. He will definately be up front about whether or not what you are wanting will work with your body type/frame. He won't do it, if it won't look right. He is a true artist. |
