I highly recommend my PS, Dr. Cohen. There is a link to his page on this site in my siggy below. You can access his website from there. He is a sponsor of this site and is board certified (as are all the sponsors here).
He is a wonderful, caring Dr. His staff is amazing as well. I've seen him every single time I've been in his office and not an assistant. He is very attentive and has a great bedside manner. He has quite an impressive CV and credentials. I absolutely LOVE him! Feel free to ask me any questions. I'm happy to help. |

Az Ps
I'm not familiar with Dr. Shaw but would recommend Dr. Borsand at Body Sculpting Center in Scottsdale. I really like him and his staff. He specializes in the 24 hour recovery technique and though it's still surgery, my recovery time was amazing. Let me know if you have any questions or I suggest checking out their website.

Dr Shaw is very good from what I've seen and heard. I was actually between him and Dr John Corey. I ultimately went with Corey, as I loved his after pics, his extreme comfort with the armpit incision, his fabulous attention to detail (he was the ONLY surgeon out of 4 I went to to inform me of the inch difference between my breasts- all others said "perfect!" and wanted to use the same cc's in both breasts), and he took so much time with me pre and post op (u can email him directly and he always responds within 12 hrs).
I had complete trust in his ability, and this made going into surgery so much more stress free!!! Take a look at his website, or schedule a consult- I don't think u will be disappointed! Www.doctorcorey.com |

Dr. Shaw did two of my roomates breast augmentations. Both are very happy with his work. I thought it was strange that they both needed revisions within a year, but it didn't seem to bother either of them as they love thier new breasts and said it was worth it. I happen to think Dr. Shaw's work is good - but very fake looking. My roomates wanted big Scottsdale boobies and that is what they got. Too much for me - but they are happy.
I had a consult with Dr. Cohen and really like him. I think he does the most natural looking breasts in Scottsdale. His staff is great. I was amazed to learn that many of his staffers have implants done by him - they all look so natural and beautiful. I thin I safely say you cannot go wring with Dr.Cohen. I also had a consult with Dr. Corey. Love his personality! My consult with him was my favorite because I think he understood what I want perfectly. The only downside is EVERY SINGLE woman in his office and waiting room had giant balloon boobs. Those women might have wanted giant bazongas, but I don't. I would die if I ended up with huge DD's so I got scared away. I've seen smaller ones he's done too. They look nice but a little hard. Maybe he doesn't make a very deep pocket? Still good work, though. Dr. Borsand is not a good choice for me because he is NOT a board certified PS. Also, my neighbor went to him for lipo and the results were terrible. She was all dented and uneven. I felt so bad for her. I met with him once and he scared me. I'm glad others on here had a good experience with him but I would stay away from anyone who isn't certified. In summary - if you are looking for Scottsdale boobs go to Dr. Shaw. If you want tighter boobs go to Dr. Corey. If you want very natural looking breasts go to Dr. Cohen. In my opinion...

My PS was Dr. Turkeltaub. I LOVE my new breasts. I went from a very deflated B (probably an A, really) to a full C/small D. It looks very natural. A friend of mine who knew I was having surgery never had a desire for augmentation, although most of her other friends have implants, she did not like the fake look. Well right after seeing mine, she booked her consult and a just had her BA 5 days ago. He is a perfectionist. But if you like the huge, fake look, you might have to convince him that is what you really want. He likes them to look natural.
I have another friend whose PS was Dr. Corey. Her boobs are amazing too. He does have nice before and after photos. I do highly recommend Dr. Turkeltaub. He is a perfectionist, & I am grateful for that.

I had my augmentation done by Corey, and my boobs are neither huge (32C) nor tight/hard. He gave me exactly what I asked for, thank god. I understand that this is all only your opinion, but I really don't get how you arrived at the "if you want tighter boobs go to Corey". |

Hey Thanks that helped alot. Today I went to Dr. Shaw and I found out I have to have a lift with implants. Well when I saw how much I started to get depressed but on the other hand if you keep going to more and more consults your giving away the money for it. Do you know about how much?

When You say how much, are you referring to consult fees or the actual BA?
Did you feel comfortable with Dr. Shaw? Are you considering more consults to see if the price drops? I went on 2 consults, but I went with the Dr. that I clicked with. I just knew Dr. Cohen was the surgeon for me. I can tell you that my BA/BL was right at $8K if that helps any. If you are comfortable with Dr. Shaw and you really like him, then I'd go with him. However, if you are questioning whether or not you actually need a lift, then it would be good to go on a few more consults. |

RE: Dr. Corey/Shaw
MODE 101: I know your choice of surgeon can be very personal, but please do not get defensive. I do not mean upset you but consider this: What YOU think might look natural, might not look ideal to others. Have you thought of that? Everyone sees things differently. We all have different expectations too.
I DO personally know people who had breasts done by Dr. Corey and in my OPINION they look a far apart and hard. Believe me - they still look more natural than some other results I've seen, and I think he is a great doctor. I really personally like him. Most importantly, I think he is great becuase his patients are so happy and that is what counts, right? BUT I do stand by my statement that the results I observed from Dr. Corey LOOK high and tight. Even after several months. I don't need to feel the breasts to see that they look high and hard. I 'm talking about look, not feel. Also, just a note about Dr. Shaw. During my consult Dr. Shaw also suggested a procedure that Dr. Cohen, Dr. Shaw and Dr. Borsand did not suggest for me. I suggest seeing several doctors and getting different opinions before making a choice.

Of course I'm going to become defensive, you are basically saying my surgeon's work is sub-par. I have first hand experience with his work- he cut open my chest after all (and I have encountered many woman in his office with "his" boobs). Yes, I know we have different ideas of hard and proper breast space, but I consider myself to be a fan of the WAY natural look- I actually like the look of a little sag lol! I went small (280ccs) because I was after the natural look as well. Looking at my yahoo group, every woman's comment is "they look so natural".
I want to defend him because I feel your critique is unfair, and the woman asking for AZ PS ideas might be led away from an amazing PS. I don't entirely believe that you know people who have had their boobs done by him, as I feel you would have led with that knowledge instead of just the women you saw in his waiting room. I'll let it go though, I just think he is the most awesome Dr I've ever met and I love his work so much! You're right, PS choice is an intensely personal decision so it's hard not to get a little wound up about this. |

That's just one of the many reasons I love Dr. Cohen. I saw him on my consult and he spent A LOT of time with me. He answered all my questions, spent tons of time going over the procedures and what he could do for me. He even drew examples for me on his laptop. I have seen him every single visit and I've had a lot over the past year.
Here is the breakdown of my fees (don't you tell him I told you everything. LOL! )Breast Augmentation/Circumareolar Mastopexy (lift) $4500 Breast Implant - Silicone $2000 Valley Anesthesia $986 Facility Fee $1150 He gave me the pain pump and the bra for free, as well as knocked $650 off his surgeon's fee, for a clergy discount, as my DH is a pastor. (Total discount was $1202.00) He uses only board certified anesthesiologists. So, the total cost of the surgery was $7986.00. The $100 consult fee came off of that and I had to pay $500 when I booked, which also came off the total. The balance was due at my pre-op. He is a wonderful PS and as I said before, I highly recommend him! He has a very calming demeanor. Tell him I said hello when you meet him. My name is Carol Anne. |
