or does anyone know a way that I could find people that have seen her...I have had many problems, and am wondering if there are others...as I just found out that she killed someone the end of 2007 and that she is not a surgeon at all...just a GP.

Yes, she had a patient die after a basic lipo procedure (as I'm sure you know). You can find tons of information about her if you google her name, but I'm not sure where/how you can find any of her other patients.

You may want to try posting a similar post on the Canadian breast augmentation board...best of luck. What sort of issues are you having? Have you talked to her?

I noticed in another thread that you meantioned you had your augmentation and a lift (?) with her, I was quite weary of this but at the time you had mentioned great results and being happy. Here is a link to one story, I'm sure there are more...
http://www.thestar.com/News/Ontario/article/278056

I cannot imagine the stuff going through your mind. One thing out of pre-caution (I don't want to have to be the one to say this but...) is I would review your implant warranty. I may be completely off base, but depending what brand of implant you received, certain warranties state that the surgery must be performed by a certified and licensed plastic surgeon....it might be worthwhile to talk to a lawyer about it in case, god forbid anything happen :S I'm sorry you are dealing with this...Keep us posted.

Also, I would highly recommend my PS. He is in your area. PM me if you'd like.

Smile Happy With My Results

I'm pretty happy with my results, though. I've heard about the bad stuff that happened, but fortunately, it didn't happen to me at all. I got breast implants (34b to a 36C) and liposuction done. They weren't at the same time, but both times I was very happy with what she did. She's so sweet!

I got submuscular because I'm smaller framed, and they look really natural. My implants are mentor, which they are a licensed provider of.

She showed me lots and lots (I mean TONS!) of photos of her past patients, and they all looked pretty good. My lipo surgery went pretty smoothly, too. She did my upper outer thighs and abdomen. I had this done all last year, and the results look great.

I don't know if you're still thinking about doing something with Dr. Yaz, but I've checked out a lot of surgeons around and found her to be the best, despite the bad press.

The following is straight from Mentor's Canadian website. I'll let you be the judge of what a licensed surgeon implies.

"...The Mentor Advantage and Enhanced Advantage
(if purchased) coverages apply to all Mentor breast implants
that are implanted in Canada after May 1, 2005*, provided
implants have been:
• Implanted in accordance with the Mentor package insert,
current to the date of implantation, and other notifications
or instructions published by Mentor
• Used by appropriately qualified, licensed surgeons, in
accordance with accepted surgical procedures
..."

I'm sorry to contradict you, but if you are saying she is the best...the best should include having a license for the surgeries you perform. There is a reason why PS's have to go through such a rigorous training regimen. It may have been luck and not trained skill that you ended up being happy with your results.

Here is an excerpt from the Star article:
"...In addition to five years of specialized surgical training, plastic surgeons must pass a national exam and be certified as members of the Royal College.

"I was a general practitioner before I became a specialist," says Dr. Brian Peterson, a plastic surgeon in Kelowna, B.C., and president of the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, which represents plastic surgeons.

"As a GP, you have medical school and an internship. You have no experience doing surgery and no appreciation for all those things that can go wrong. Five years of surgical training teaches you how to select patients properly and what to do when things go wrong."..."

Yes, things go wrong..and that is why a patient should ensure their PS has amazing credentials, and AT THE MINIMUM be certified in this specialty.

I am in BC (same province as Peterson). All PS in BC HAVE to be certified in order to perform Plastic Surgery here. I posted on another thread about this subject as to the credentials of my PS, and they are outstanding! He also works alongside two other PS in BC who also have outstanding credentials. They are co-founders of Valley cosmetic Surgery Associates Inc., which owns and operates Valley Surgery Centre. My PS is the Medical Director of this centre. (if anyone wants their names, let me know).

I've been to a consult with Dr. Yaz. I didnt end up choosing her since she was the first one I went to. I heard about what happened to one of her patients that died. I was freaked out and didnt want to take a chance. I was also on another plastic surgery website and found one of her patients that gave her a botched boob job. It was terrible. Hope you find a PS that your comfortable with! Yay Canadians =)

I had my surgery with Yaz in Sept 08 and found everything went fine. I am concerned though after finding out this latest news about her history.
When i came to Toronto i had met with other surgeons but found they rushed me out and was disappointed with some who charged for consultation but didn't spend the time- since i had tubular breasts i also had more concerns-

I am from out west and doctors there cannot operate a clinic unless they are actual surgeons, and I did not think that it was different in Ontario.
Why is it different here i don't know?
I found her & the staff to be informative and she had shown me many pics, especially one of a woman who had the same problem with her breasts.
plus i was referred by a girl i worked with, who got hers done by Yaz and said she did a good job.

But now im concerned if any unforeseen problems may arise in the future?
its been almost 6 months now and one of my breasts still hasn't dropped and is firmer, so im worried this may be a problem due to her lack of education.
Or if im just taking a while longer to heal or if i may need a revision due to cc?
hearing this makes me feel uncomfortable to go back to her for a possible revision for CC.

I had to have my implants removed by a certified plastic Surgeon, and he can not fix then for 4 - 6 months, because they need to heal from everything she has done. I am deformed and embarrassed...also she advertised her price as including all pre-post op bloodwork etc, but she puts all her bloodwork through OHIP which is fraud since cosmetic is third party and the patient is responsible for payment.

I will be contacting a lawyer after i confront her.

Wow - that is nuts. I would defin. get a lawyer and see about suing her. I would also educate the public on the fraud...that is sad. Is it her way of trying to get more patients??? I had to pay for my bloodwork etc...and I was totally ok with that as the surgeries are ELECTIVE.

Wow...very sad and I am sorry you have to deal with it. She should pay for your new surgery.

SHe is not a Plastic Surgeon. She is not part of the Royal College. She was a Family Docto who opened a cosmetic clinic and got licensed as a Cosmetic Surgeon. I would not recommend her. I got my boobs done there and everyone there is very nice and all, but I am not happy with my result. I have rippling. I am tall and skinny and she still placed my implants over the muscle. She is also quite expensive considering she does't even have the proper credentials. RESEARCH YOU PLASTIC SURGEONS, LADIES!!!
