Aussie Plastic Surgeons...Australia

Hi Ladies..

If you're located in Australia, who was your PS and why? I'll be looking for someone in SE Qld probably and would especially love to see opinions of PS' in that area!

Cheers Jistie

Hi , I am not really of any help - but your online and nobody is answering....
Dr. Flemming seems to be the known QLD PS for the girls.... I dont know how he is with larger implants though.... Hang out a while and youŽll get some more info.... Have you googled yet to see the PS directory for SE Qld.? maybe worth a try.... xoxo

No use but funny, My 1st breast augmentation was done in Brisbane by a PS ..... yeh right! what was his name? Doctor More!
I am serious and I even asked him was his partners name Doctor Less..... (OMG) I have matured since then , lol!

Ta jj2009 I've just had a look at his website and I must say I'm VERY impressed with his gallery.. Definitely one to shortlist!

It's sooo much more helpful when surgeons have a website and a gallery as a bonus!

Cheers Jistie

I just had a consult with Dr. Sormann. Great guy! I came out very happy, but then I realised he only does them over the muscle???I am very small, won't that look rediculous?? He is getting back to me on Monday about that, as I only thought to ask once I was gone. Can you tell me more??? I wish I could say private message me...but I don't know how to do that!!!!

Okay, so I wasnt keen on over the muscle either, only cause everything I read said below the muscle more natural etc etc. I breast fed two kids and had a deflated B. I got 325cc Saline (professor sormann also only does saline) If you can wait a few days, I will do some pics. He actually does sub-fascia which is over the muscle placement but under the tissue of the muscle - check out this for a better explanation
http://www.breast-plastic-surgery.or...-implants.html

My results are so far are incredibly natural - I am 5 and a bit weeks out. He may not be right for you, but I have to say, I went with him because I believe that if a surgeon believes in exactly what they are doing is the best way, then, if you trust him/her, you couldnt be in better hands.

The recovery was amazing also, no pain. Nothing is too much trouble for them at the Noosa office either, Judith, is incredible.

Let me know if you want to know more, but I am extremely happy to sing his praises and if you would like to see pics, let me know and I will get around to taking some for you!

Shivashakti heres some info (JBI.com) on overs -
Pros
  • Implants are very easy to place. Virtually all surgeons can perform this procedure with ease.
  • Avoidance of a breast lift, or mastopexy, due to mild sag (ptosis), however, this is usually a "quick fix", and a lift will, many times, be needed in the future, especially when larger implants are placed. Keep in mind that the only thing supporting the implant is the skin and breast tissue.
  • Less recovery time, with less post-op discomfort/pain, since the muscles are left in tact, and only skin and fat are cut.
  • Larger implants may be placed, versus attempting to use a very large implant with partial or complete sub-muscular placement (during the first augment).
  • Cleavage is more easily created with overs, particularly if the breasts are naturally spaced wide apart.

Cons
  • Ripples are more easily seen and felt, especially in women starting with little or no breast tissue. In these cases, there is very little tissue to help camouflage the implant. This is especially true for textured breast implants placed over the muscle. See photos of rippling here.
  • More pictures/views will need to be taken when doing mammograms, and sometimes, insurance companies will not pay for these extra images, which means you will have to pay for those out-of-pocket. However, his can be true no matter where the implants are placed.
  • Capsule contracture rates are highest in women with implants placed over the muscle.
  • Bottoming out is a larger risk with overs and partial unders than with implants placed in the complete submuscular position.
  • Many women who lift weights opt for over the muscle placement. This is mostly due to the fact that when the pectoral muscles are flexed, the implant does not become distorted in shape.
  • Overs can give a more "fake", augmented look. There tends to be more of a pronounced "roundness" to the breasts, versus the look that unders give, which is a more natural slope. Again, this is not the case for ALL sub-glandular implants, but does seem to be truer for those who have little to no breast tissue to start with. There is nothing at all wrong with this look. It's simply a matter of personal preference.

When searching for a PS go here for some info
http://www.aestheticdaysurgery.com.au/choosing.html

After reading that page go here http://plasticsurgery.org.au/ and just type in the area you are looking for e.g. brisbane and it will bring up all registered PS's

Make sure you do your homework hun, including the types of implants smooth, textured and polyurethane.

Hi Babe,

I went with Dr Terrence Scamp at Esteem on the Gold Coast. I went with him cause some girls i know went with him and had fantastic results (I love mine already and i'm only 3wks out.) He is a a member of the ASPS (Australian Society of Plastic Surgeon's), it is very very improtant to go with a Plastic Surgeon not a Cosmetic Surgeon, there is a big difference. Dr Scamp is a fully qualified and registered and accredited Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon (hehe so basicly he knows his stuff) He has been performing breast augmentation for the past 19 years. Also the Day surgery they operate out of is fully registered, and accredited hospital, fully equipped with all emergency equipment should the need for it arise.

The biggest seller for me was: The average rate is around 5%, however DR Scamps rate is <1% for both capsular contracture and infection.

You can tell that this guy really know's his stuff and all the staff are really fantastic. Send me a FR if u wanna know more or see my pic's

PHILLIP RICHARDSON!!! PHILLIP RICHARDSON, absolutely. I am so happy with my new boobs. He is a member of the Plastic surgeons association, you can have as many consultations as you need, and he does a FANTASTIC JOB.

Seriously, I am 4 months Post op and everything is great. He's at Pacific Day surgery in fortitude valley. They are so lovely there.

Good luck.

I am just at the start of my hunt.
Im really keen to get mine done ASAP, getting married in March and i want my boobies to be settled in (in time for dress ordering, which can take up to 4 months) ooooohhhh.

Im so overwhelmed by all the options and surgeons.
Ive booked in with Robert Goldman, Dr Mayson, and Phil Richardson. Oh and Dr Topchian (Dr Flemmings sidekick).
Dr Goldman seems to prefer sub glandular, so im not sure if he's right for me if i want sub musculaur.

Dr Mayson's pictures look fab.
Dr Richardson seems pretty well qualified.
And Dr Topchian is practising under one of the most well known, but the photo's on the site are average to say the least.

Ahh anyone got any info to help me with my hunt?
Thanks girlies.

Dr Fleming and Dr Topchian are CS not PS.
Make sure you do your homework on anyone that you are thinking of consulting with and make sure you also see more than 2 PS/CS. Because they all work differently.
Dr Fleming and Dr Topchian only work with polyurethane implants now, no smooth or textured. The polyuerthanes may not be for you so this is something you need to consider when consulting with PS/CS.
I have recently consulted with Dr Richardson and I thought he was great. I am looking for more opinions before I finally choose my new PS.
I have heard that Dr Hugh Bartholomew and Dr Neil Allen are very good too
Remember see more than 2 PS/CS and do your homework!!!
Just because their gallery looks good doesnt mean anything.

I would really recommend Phillip Richardson. He has so many photo's on line, of various size implants and all different shaped women! So far, other than myself I know 2 women personally who went to him for the breast augmentation, 3 women online who had their breast augmentation with him and my MUM is planning to go to him next year for her boob job! Can you believe that??

And Phil is a fully qualified Plastic surgeon, NOt a 'cosmetic surgeon'.

Good luck with it all.

I have researched Surgeons for yonks now! And decided to go to Daniel Flemming without having seen in person any other surgeons. Ive decided this might not be best as everyone does somehting different. I thought the Silimed polyeurethane implants offered by Dr Flemming sounded fantastic but have also heard sometimes that they can feel quite firm and hes not a PS just a CS and ect ect. I have now booked Appointments with 2 other cs/ps being Dr Scamp and Dr Goldman.
I am tyrying to get one with Dr Szalay also. I have had an almost email consultation with a female surgeon who though 350cc was way too huge and wanted to do subglandular... I wasnt overly impressed so am looking elsewhere. If anyone has any further info on surgeons and theyre expericne with the consult or final outcome Id love to hear from you as I'll be in brisbane for a few days in october trying to see everyone at once and make up my mind. I have a surgery date booked with Dr Flemming for december but still tossing up really in my head. Which is a new thing, I was just all set to go with Dr Flemmign before, now I have seeds of doubt! eek

I know what you mean, i was really impressed, by how well known he was, but then i read a few different reviews that said he was a bit pushy for the fuzzy's (which have been proven to have nasty side effects in a percentage of women) and i didnt like his sidekick's lack of credentials.
Dr Flemming has been on several tv shows and i know that creates quite a hype, but im not sure if that was something he did as a marketting scheem.

Dr Goldman prefers to do sub glandular as well, i went to a consult with him.

i dont believe you HAVE to go to a plastic surgeon, especially when plastic surgeons can get the cosmetic surgery licenses without ever having performed a breast augmentation. i used a cosmetic surgeon, and my results are perfect. could not be ANY better. JMHO.
in my case, i steered clear of plastic surgeons, but didnt completely right them off. if i couldnt find a great cosmetic surgeon, i would then go to plastic surgeons.
but everyones different
i think it is VERY important to keep an open mind

Hey hun can you pm the side effects that you have mentioned. I really want to be aware of things that could happen to me. I plan to have the polyurethane implant out this time next year.

Is Dr Goldman a reconstruction breast surgeon? I am needing to see one of them now *sigh*.
