Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery

Has anyone had surgery at the Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida?

I've had nothing but trouble with this place and have never like my results from any of the surgeries I had.

OMG you poor thing! Ok well let me tell you a little story..I probably shouldn't but I feel as if I have to now. Well I actually called and booked my breast augmentation there with dr. ummmmm Alexander. This was after doing research on their site and yeah maybe I rushed into it too and the price quote they gave me I couldnt resist. I wanted boobs soo bad I didn't even talk to anyone else. The lady I spoke with on the phone (i'm in Orlando) was nice and said they could book my consult and surgery within a days time since I was coming from out of town so I was thrilled! Well I started doing some more internet research on them and didn't really find anything....maybe that's better than not finding anything bad. So I decided to e-mail a JBI girl from Miami asking her if she knew anything about the place (yeah after I booked I started re-thinking) and she replied with yeah and that she knew two girls that got their breast augmentation's done there and they turned out great so I was sooo relieved! Well then I found out about the IDEAL implant study and dr. Alexander was not part of the study so I decided to go all the way to Boca and do a consult with one of the few PS's that are in the study and booked him that day and called to cancel with Florida Center....I also know that those doctors at Florida Center or at least dr. alexander is not a certified plastic surgeon, not that that neccesarilly means he does not so good work but I felt better knowing my PS is certified. Now also when the nurse called me to ask a few questions, she wasn't THAT nice but I was like ok whatever. I got my deposit back through filing a complaint with my bank because they didn't want to give it back and mind you, I had not signed any papers stating this as I did this over the phone, and they said I could use it towards another procedure...ummm why would I do that if I am cancelling my breast augmentation??? LOL. Anyways sorry you're going through this and if you have any other qestions, feel free to ask. I hope I don't get in to trouble posting this. Hope you get everything resolved and you can Love your boobies soon!

I had mine done at Coral Gables Cosmetic Surgery. They were not bad at all my experience was good. The Dr's that they work with are board certified. His name was Dr. Sean Simon I did my own research online and as well through Myflorida.com. I as well found him on the website of loveyourlook.com which reassured me.

Thank you girls for your replies....Sk2hot08 thank you for sharing your story with me. I've done research on them now and i have seen alot of bad comments about Dr. Alexander. Whom I met when i went to be consulted for my ruptured implant. Which I had to pay for upfront and i am still waiting to be remebursed for to this day. They told me i had to be charged as a NEW PATIENT WITH NEW DOCTORS FEES, to replace ONE implant it would cost me $2800, while the maximum remebursement from Mentor is $1200! I had to pay $1600 in NEW DOCTORS FEES! And why would i replace only one implant and walk around with 2 different implants, so it forced me into paying for a whole new procedure totaling in $3400. The staff was very rude and one of the women there actually got into a verbal arguement with me and was very disrespectful. I feel so helpless because ive already spent about $8200 between both surgeries and am not happy with any of the results. Would you believe the doctor that last did my implants was ALSO NO LONGER A PART OF THE PRACTICE AFTER MY SURGERY! I've got some bad luck!

The Florida Center just sounded too commercial to me and I just thought of it as a factory mentality as in "get em in " "Fill em up" and "move em out."
and whatever happens as an ooops will be chaulked up as a statistic.

I had mine done with Dr. Camille Chavez out of the Premiere Center in Coconut Grove. LOVE HER AND THEIR WHOLE STAFF. and their prices... My sister is even flying in from NY to get hers done here in the Grove.

I called Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery because one girl I know had hers done with Dr. A. She was happy with her results so I decided to go there. I researched Dr. Alexander and FCCS on the web and I found some really scary reviews. DR. A is not board certified. I called on Monday around 10am. Well ... let me write about my experience with FCCS ... The secretary said I could see him on that same day at 1:00pm. I was happy to see their PS so soon. I asked her if I would have to wait long because I was on a luch break. She said I would not have to wait because I was his last patient that day. Great, I thought! I got there at 12:45pm. I had to fill out some forms. I did that in 5min. I waited for like 1 hour... after waiting for over 1 hour I got up and went to the secretary. They called me and moved me to a different room and told me to wait again. I did wait for 30 more min. I went back to the secretary and she said Dr. A's nurse was coming to talk to me. So they took me to another room. There I met his secretary, not his nurse. She told me that DR A had left and she was going to talk to me about the surgery. She did tell me about the surgery and showed me some pics. But the PS left without seeing me!!! Then I talked to his coordinator... she was not very nice and gave me a quote for saline. I told her I was not there for saline... I was going to get silicone... So she scratched off saline and added $1000 to my quote. It was $5000 with local anesthysia... I told her I wanted general... So my quote went up... She was not asking me questions... she was rushing me out of there for some reason.... I will never go back!!! I don't care if they'll do it for free!!!

and Anxious30 is talking about Coral Gables Cosmetic Center which is a completely different place.
I agree with you Anxious30, Dr. Sean Simon is an excellent surgeon, they also have other great physicians like:

Robert Hunsaker breast augmentation
Ary Krau breast augmentation
Christopher Craft breast augmentation

The best of this place? unbeatable price. Some of these surgeons have their own private office but the charge you a lot more for the same surgery (we are talking about $1500 difference).
