Unhappy Smartlipo on calves

Hi,
I just had a smartlipo done on my calves, knees and ankles... and I think the surgeon took out way too much fat!!... my legs look much too thin now to my rather normal big thighs...

Does anybody know if there is any possibility to "add fat" back to the calves???

I think its to soon to tell, give it time before you start to panic! you will be seeing changes over the next several weeks, I just had lipo as well, and am eager to see results, so hang in there!

thank you...I know its soon but...theres so much swelling right after surgery and if anything the legs will be thinner when it all goes away...
Im just so scared that it wil look really unnatural..like chicken legs or someting... its like I have no calves left! Just skin and bones!

AsianSiren will become famous soon enough
Hang in there! Like sophiecat said, it's too soon to tell. Might take weeks, might take months. However, I would rather have them take out too much than too little. Plus if you think that your legs are now too skinny, you can just work out to gain some muscle. Or if you want fat there, you can gain weight.

For me it's easier to gain weight than to lose weight. So if I were in your position, it would actually be a plus.

Talking

takes time to see final result..but even if your they are smaller than your thighs that is great..bc you can work them out to become define...you always want that area smaller than your thigh..keep your head up

Thanks everyone...yes you're all probably right. It does take time to heal and adjust. Maybe it wont be too bad after all... I just hope they at least will be firm an smooth... with no weird saggyness... he removed in total 5 litres of fat!!!
Right now every step hurts like hell...

I had calf lipo 16 days ago. I went in with low expectations. I have had calf issues my whole life, they were huge and dIdn't match my body. I would rarely show them, always hiding in long dresses and pants. My results have been amazing. I could cry with happiness when I look at them. They now look lime "normal" calves! And they are still swollen. He also did my knees and inner thighs to match it all up. I wish you good luck with yours!

Yeah I hear you on that! Did you have smartlipo or regular lipo? Has the pain and tension in your legs eased a little yet?
My legs look so horrible right now, its been a week for me and they are yellow-green all up to above my knees with some almost black bruises here and there...

....
I don't understand how they say its a small procedure and that you can be back at work within a few days haha... It hurts way too much even with strong painkillers, which btw makes me a little woozy.. and kinda weak I almost fainted when walking around today. I think I will stay home for 2 more weeks to heal properly!

I had Vaser lipo. The pain has eased but it took 2 weeks. My right calf still feels very tight and I'm walking with a limp. I have a pic of my bruising on my profile and it was horrific. They are still bruised and swollen but getting better every day. I have only started getting out of the house today- day 17. I wasn't prepared for how bad it would all be, but with lipo to my calves, knees, thighs, flanks and tummy and a breast augmentation, I should have figured it out!!! Good luck with your recovery, I hope you are happy with the results. Give it time, it is a big adjustment.

Thank you! Wow thats a lot in one surgery...you must have felt like you were hit by a truck huh!
Is vaser the same as smartlipo though? Like they give local anasteasia, melt the fat with tiny laser needle and then suck the melted fat out..?

I took this from the internet, from a PS.

"Smart Lipo uses laser light which converts the heat to melt the fat and VASER uses ultrasonic sound waves which converts to heat to melt the fat. Both procedures are useful in areas where fat is more difficult to remove because it tends to be more fibrous."

Some doctors prefer one over the other but they are both meant to be good. I had general anesthesia.

I am SOOOOO interested in getting some lipo done. i hear it is cheaper than regular lipo and is more effective in areas that fat is hard to get rid of. But, one of the doctors i had a consult with had "warning" page on it on his website.

her's the link:
http://www.plastic.org/LaserLiposuctionWarning.html

has anyone had a bad experience with laser lipo?

I have a consult tomorrow to get smart lipo on my calves. I've struggled with my legs all my life to e point that I wear pants all the time. I'm finally considering doing something other than exercise about it. I'm hoping I can afford it. Does anybody know what the average price is? Recovery time? Anybody have any before and after pics I can see?

I just had to add to this conversation to all you who had lipo on your calves...

SEND IT MY WAY!!

LOL, I have had the skinniest chicken legs no matter what I do, seriously girls, I half NO calf muscle whatsoever!!! Same with my arms!!! That's why I weigh 115 (at my heaviest) @ 5'8"!! Anyway, I guess I would rather really skinny legs than heavier looking legs, so if you do end up with skinny calves, imagine you are a super model walking the catwalk
