"Skin Only" tummy tuck

Has anyone had a skin only tummy tuck? Not a mini. It's the same as the full TT but with no muscle repair. I am wondering how the recover time is? My doc says it drastically reduces recovery. I'm wonder how soon I'll be able to go back to work.

It's the same as a full tummy tuck except they do not tighten the muscle. They still do the full hip to hip cut and separate the belly button. Then cut out the skin below the belly button, pull the skin down tight, stitch you up and then replace the belly button.

I have strong abs and the doc said not enough muscle separation to need to tighten the abs. He said it's a "coin toss". He could tighten them a bit but it's not enough to be too noticeable a difference. I have horrible stretch marks and loose skin from my kids and loosing weight and that is all this fixes.

Thats interesting, I would like that. I dont need the muscle repair either, I didnt know they did that. That would make such a difference in the recovery. Does the PS charge the same as abdominoplasty or is it cheaper?

As far as I know the price is the same if you have MR or not.
Well I had MR and went back to work in 14 days.

Thats interesting! I have a lot of loose skin below my belly button and that is going to be removed and new belly button coming.
If the recovery is faster, I like that idea!

That's exactly my problem. I have loose skin that just hangs and stretch marks from hell. I dont' even know if my belly button can be called a belly button anymore. My PS says it drastically will reduce the recovery time so I'll let you all know. I am hoping to get in for a January surgery. I am trying to do boobs at the same time but that will require financing. So I'm waiting to hear back on that. But the TT is happening. I have saved up for this. I want it more than anything ever!!!!

Just HC, so the mini is just a smaller scar right?

Is there any other difference between the mini & the TT without muscle repair?

The way it was explained to me with the mini they leave the belly button alone and only stretch the skin below the belly button. With the skin only TT they still stretch all the skin, relocate the belly button and remove excess fat deposits just like a regular TT but they just don't stitch the muscle (which is the really painful part).
