I think if you have the cash, you should pay in cash. That way, you're not paying any interest. You never know when you might need to fix your car or house plumbing. Each credit card bill you owe makes harder to stash money away for the future or to build up a good emergency fund. That said, I'll probably save half and credit card the other half. Most PSs I know will still give you the cash discount so long as you're not using a finance company. |

Since my ba is going to $10,000 I would never be patient enough to save it all up! So instead we put it on our line of credit that has low low interest.

I paid cash, and got a $300 discount. I consider credit for major life purchases (car, house, etc) and emergencies (which is probably why my credit is so excellent!) :-) BA is a luxury that I felt I needed to earn by saving for it.

I've been planning on doing it for so long...I had the money, then I spent it all, then I had the money, then I spent it all...I knew that was what I wanted to use it for, but maybe it was my subconscious way of chickening out?
Once I decided I was absolutely going to do it, I just jumped right in, I didn't have the patience to save up first. I financed through Capital One Healthcare Finance. $7,500. 12 months no interest. Hopefully I can pay it all off by then, if not I have to pay interest. |

Financing, but paying it off during the interest-free period. Using this as an opportunity to help boost the credit that my ex so generously wrecked (identity theft...what a nightmare!).
