![]() | Worst recovery day?
I am trying to get an idea of what to expect post breast augmentation in the recovery phase, I don't want to feel ok on day 2 and think "Hey this isn't so bad" only to be caught out on day 3 feeling like absolute crap...

For me it was day 1, straight after breast augmentation. I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that I wasn't allowed to eat before surgery so I felt a bit nauseous afterwards. Eating helped some. I continued to feel faint/nauseous all the way up to the late afternoon/evening of day 2 which is when I finally started feeling like I can walk upright and stuff.

I voted day 4 (after my pain pump was removed). It still wasn't "bad" but probably the "worst" out of my recovery. |

For me day 1 was definitely the worst, day 2 and 3 were also pretty painful but the meds helped me manage. Just keep on top of your meds, and don't do too much the first few days even if you feel good, doing too much can cause to regress on your progress. |

Day 3/4 was my worst...not for pain, but for the horrible weak and faint feelings I was getting, and by that day my back and neck ache had started and the indigestion from the anti biotics..come to think of it, none of my recovery was really pain from the boobs, it was from every other limb, joint and organ !

I was a little surprised how bady it hurt, I don't know if it was just wishful thinking on my part but I just seem to recall reading all of these stories about women who were out jumping on trampolines and skydiving the day after surgery(I'm exaggerating). I thought I was pretty tolerant of pain and that I'd be ok..I was wrong! As soon as I woke up from anesthesia I was in quite a bit of pain, they put pain meds in my iv twice before I left and gave me some perocet for the ride home, that helped a little. The pain lingered (regardless of pain meds-oxycontin and muscle relaxers) for the first 3 or 4 days, since then I've felt noticeably better every day. It wasn't so much the actual boobs that hurt, my back was KILLING me, my ribs hurt, my right arm had a horrible feeling as though I hit my funnybone-bad! I felt exhausted and frustrated that I wasn't able to get up or move around with out pain. If I sat perfectly still I was ok, but as soon as I tried to sit up or move around it felt like I was being beaten with a baseball bat in various areas of my body. My skin was SUPER sensitive, just the seams and texture of my clothes pressing into my skin on the side of my boobs hurt like hell!! (aveeno anti itch cream-works wonders for that) This horrible strap is like a torture device! I thought the pain meds would have knocked me out, but no such luck, I stayed wide awake way more that I wanted to. A word to the wise sit still and rest! I feel a million times better now, it's only been about a week. The only problems I'm having now is that I'm easily fatigued and a little bit of discomfort here and there. I haven't taken anything for pain yesterday or today. I don't know if it hurt me extra bad because of the larger size implant (silicone 700cc's). Even though I had a rough time at first I think it was totally worth it! Now if they would just start looking good and stop looking square... |

i voted for day 3 b/c i was tapering off my meds and the booby blues had hit. pain wise it was day one for sure, but really the physical and mental day that was the worst was day 3.

I voted for day 1. When I had my last surgery, day 1 was the worst. My second surgery was also worst on day 1. The first breast augmentation and the third breast augmentation were worst on day 2. Weird.

![]() | For me, it was day 1. My surgery was so late in the day--around 4:30/5:00 o'clock is when I went back--and I had gone about 20 hours without food; that had a toll on my night! I was so sick from the anesthesia. I never realized that you use your pecs when you throw-up!! Now, I know! It was a very bad night for me, worse then labor! |

Although I voted for the day 1(breast augmentation day), I really did not even have "worst" date as my recovery was a real piece of cake compared to what I've heard from everybody. I didn't have problem with pain-med either. If I were to list specific, I'd say that's all in the level of post OP discomfort: swelling/bloating/soreness. That's pretty much it.

I voted Day 2 for being my worst recovery day ~ my back started to ache from being in the reclined position and I just couldn't get comfortable ~ also the meds made me dizzy and yucky feeling...I didn't need them but thought I should take them...I got off the meds at day 4 and felt so much better afterwards
