I hand wash all my bras. I did this before with my teen A cups that I couldn't even fill. LOL!
Bras are expensive so I take care of them.

Welll...
I wash them on delicate cycle, with gentle baby soap on cold or warm if white... I put them in those little bags they sell for delicate clothes.. And it works wonderfully!! never ruinned any of them! BUT ABSOLUTELY NO DRYING!! Just let em hang in the bathroom!! That for sure will ruin them!! Quote:

Me, too. I use them for both bra & lingeries so these delicate things are not getting caught by zippers, buttons, or other fabrics that's being washed together. I always close hooks so they won't damage other bras or clothes. I never put bras or lingerie in a dryer, though. Anything washed in a mesh bag are to be hang-dried.

I wash all of my delicates in mesh bags.
Wollite makes this little round one specially for bras. I also close all the hooks so they don't snag and then line dry them.....but if I'm in a hurry I will dry them in the dryer still in the mesh bag. "I usually do that with my most favorite and most comfortable bra"....I know I'm a bad girl Bras should not be put in the dryer.

I never use the dryer, EVER. Ruins mine. I've put them on wet before a number of times in emergencies, but won't dry 'em. Not the most comfy thing to do when you wear padded ones! I usually wash them on my washing machine's "hand wash" cycle. Kind of an oxy-moron....lol but it works very well! I try to do that with my undies as well, since most are nylon thongs-
I know! But, if I don't do them separately, somehow, my DH manages to put them in the dryer- (The guy only seems to do laundry when there is a chance of ruining my fancy panties! LOL)

Guess I'm lazy too! I just throw them in with the rest of the wash and then hang them in the laundry room to dry. But then I don't have too many expensive bras.

I work at La Senza, and the "hand wash only" rule is a load of crap. You can machine wash the bras because I've done it.... but the no-machine instructions are just to cover our butts in case someone machine washes it and it falls apart and they want a refund or a new bra. Then we can just say "well it says hand wash only, sorry". It's basically to save the company money. I just tell people to use descretion when washing... If it LOOKS like it'll fall apart in the wash, then it probably will.

I usually just wash as normal, but it really isn't that hard to handwash - just takes a few minutes. I love the scent of that Victoria's Secret detergent but it's so expensive...I only bought it when I was working there and had my generous discount

I so agree! I have even taken to putting a lot of my "dry clean only" clothes in the washing machine (not dryer), and they are all fine, even after a couple of years. |

I put "Other" because when the bra is new, I do hand-wash it. Eventually, I get tired of that and throw it in the washer. I don't ever dry one in the dryer. I always hang them to dry. Maybe if I buy some really gorgeous post-BA bras, I'll try only hand-wash. I don't know.......I can get really lazy!

I always used to just pop em in the machine and hang dry them. Then after I had my BA and had to buy all these costly bras just to get the right fit I started handwashing them b/c the sales lady was so insistent that the washing machine would destroy them.
But you guys are saying otherwise, maybe Ill go back to the machine . . . . |

I just put them all in the machine on a 30 degree cycle and generally dry them on the radiator although they have actually seen the inside of my dryer in emergencies!!!

My bras do not cost more than 30 dollars, so its ok to put them in to machine. But my washing machine is too expensive so i use laundry bags to keep underwires not to damage my machine. about five underwires have been broken out in machine and one almost damage it. Expensive and unique clothes goes to laundry bag of course.
