Pregos after BA?

How long after your BA did you get pregnant? I want to have a BA, but don't know how long I'll want to wait before having another baby. What is your experience?

I first visited a ps about 12 years ago, but I decided to wait until after having my kids to get my ba. That's why I got them just a year ago.

I went in for a consult in 2003 then had 2 babies and just went in for my BA (My youngest is 8 months old)
It's a completely personal choice.
My gf waited 4 years after her BA to have kids.

That's exactly what I was wondering. Thanks for bringing it up! I am considering a BA, but also want another child. I really want nice boobies, but I would like to get pregnant within the next year. I just don't want to get a BA and then have pregnancy and breast feeding ruin it later. The ladies on here have been wonderful! I definitely know that I want a BA now, I just don't know when the timing should be.

Red face

I'm 31 and this was an issue with me as well. I don't have any kids yet, but want them within the next year or two. Everything I've read says that having children post-BA is not a big deal, but my doctor recommends waiting at least 6 months so everything can heal....I think it's also important to wait at least that long because if you have complications in your BA, you want to give yourself enough time to have that 2nd surgery if needed.

I was also concerned about not being able to breastfeed post BA and my PS reassured me that MOST women can still breastfeed as long as they don't lose sensitivity in their areola area. He showed me a diagram of the breast and where the Milk ducts are located and showed me approx where he would be making the pocket ensuring me that he wouldn't be cutting any milk ducts, only muscle and tissue below and infront of the milk ducts.

My PS is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at one of the major hospitals here in NE, he's done over 4000 BA's, so I trusted him.

Post surgery, verything went really well. I am so glad that I did this. I want to ENJOY my body for a while before I have children. I am SO GLAD that I didn't wait any longer!! I wish I would have done this sooner.

I've already decided I'm only going to adopt. I have thyroid issues, and there are thousands of kids already here who are just waiting to be adopted. So for me, pregnancy isn't an issue at all. But if it was, I'd have the kids first, just my preference.

I'm 31 and a single mom to a 5 year old. My getting prego is going to be highly dependent on finding a husband first. lol. also, I have 1 year left of nursing school so... if I were to find my future hubby tomorrow, I'd want to wait at least a year... lots of healing time plus by then I'll be done with school. kwim?

but I like the whole waiting at least 6 months thing (if all my other stars were properly aligned)

If you get preggers + breastfeed after ba, is it likely that you'd need a lift?

[I don't want to have babies in the next five years, but probably by seven year's I'll be ready to have kids. I *guess* that if I got my ba next year, that by the time I have kids and their done breastfeeding it might be time for a redo anyway...]

Thumbs up

No more kids for me. Im 42 and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. My BL/BA was my post kids gift to myself, along with my husbands vasectomy last month as well. Woo Hoo, no more "being careful" for us.
