Infection????

Okay so PS office decided that I DO have an infection.... what I'd like to know is if you did have one, did your implant have to be removed, did antibiotics resolve the infection, did you go through antibiotic treatments and still have implant removed, or other treatments and if so what the result was

What were/are your symptons? I'm going tommorow to find out if I am getting the okay to have both implants put back in after them being taken out 12-26-07 & 1-21-08. My right side was not healing so PS took that 1 on 12-26-07. Left was taken out 1-21-08. Neither incsion was healing, implant was visible on right side thru a dime size hole. My BA was 11-20-07.

My PS told me that the only way to get rid of the infection was to remove it, treat the infection, then reimplant. Apparently antib's dont work.

Just what he said, I havent experienced it (yet... gulp)

HTH

went in today. have an infection for sure. no fever, no pain just redness, pooling of blood under surface, a pin size hole (implant was exposed)

Under LOCAL anesthetic only, ps opened me up, removed implant, removed infected tissue at opening, flushed me out, replaced implant and closed me back up.... fingers crossed, antibiotics trippled!!!

Under LOCAL??? Yikes! How long did that take? Was there a drape between your head and chest or could you see what was going on?? That sounds a bit scary, yet kind of cool at the same time. Wishing you a full and super speedy recovery!!!!!!!

Yep, Under local lol. Def had a paper sheet thing between me and them! I think it took around 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. Not exactly sure because I was in the "holding" room FOREVER and had NO clue what time it was when I went in. I'd have FLIPPED out if not. Thanks for the well wishes
