Hey ladies, just a big curiousity of mine, if you developed CC, first I am sorry, secondly, when did you develop it? Thanks in advance!

Wow, I'm the first voter! LOL I got it almost immediately it seemed like. I can't be sure the exact week that I KNEW I had it, but it was like week 4 or 5. But after the redo and the larger pocket, NOTHING! Soft as butter.

My cc came like around 4 years.. my ps believes that MOST cc cases result from a bacteria infection, a specific strain of this. Whats very strange is after my ba and before my cc, I had a BRSB (brown recluse spider bite) and had several secondary infections.. my ps didnt know this, but in our conversation regarding cc.. it was brought up.. I think it makes so much sense!
My ps also believes, that when cc is ONLY due to our DNA healing process (over-reacting by creating scar tissue) and we have a full capsulectomy, he believes that cc will return almost right away, or generally within the first 6 weeks post ba.
I am at the 2 month mark, and they are as soft and squishy as real breasts!! I have a positive attitude most def, but.. I am also not an idiot.. and I dont think I will probably ever feel "SAFE from the cc monster" lol. I took 2 different antibiotics for 45 days.. yikes!! And his protocol is at ANY sign of cc.. I would be put back on the antibiotics. There is a ps or so on this site that actually supports this theory as well.
I feel this way... if cc is our own body's DNA reaction to wounds or foreign bodies, cc should and likely will occur during the first few months following ba. If cc is indeed caused by a very resistant, and particular strain of bacteria, then it could in fact, occur at any time.. any virus, cold, open wound, broken bone etc, could, develop a secondary infection which would indeed possibly cause cc, the good news here is that if that is the case (bacteria/infection) then if we can catch it right away, antibiotic therapy should stop its development, and massage should really help with the beginning stages. The worst case scenario, if we assume the afore mentioned to be true, that a full capsulectomy with antibiotic therapy should eliminate cc.
My greatest fear of course, was that my body would simply NOT accept implants without making scar tissue. ( we all have scar tissue but I mean extreme) If that was/were to be the case, then I would have 2 choices; live with the hardness and somewhat misshapen look, or have my implants removed without replacement.
I did actually consider removal without replacement when my LB deflated, but decided it was worth at least one more shot. I am SOOOO glad I did!
I know you are trying to determine when you can breath a sigh of relief and say.. ok.. I am past the point of worrying about cc, and while I really wish I could say.. at this point, at day 10 or year 1 but the truth is.. i just dont think thats true. I feel in my findings, my research and my personal experience that cc, much like a deflation or rupture, is just one of those things that has a some risk throughout the lifetime of the device.
Really though.. there is NO reason for YOU to think you are going to deal with this complication. And even if you did, really its not that bad compared to the other potential complications, and the ones that happen right after surgery; like hematoma, bottoming out, symethesia,.. etc.. etc.
HTH..

It did help. I actually have read that too about the bacteria infection. And yes, I was looking for that sigh of relief...when I created this poll. It is funny because my PS said in the last 10years he only had one person develop it.........which amazes me because he does MANY and is highly sought after...........(maybe that is why )
Thanks so much for your post.......it was very informative, as always you are a pluthra (sp?) of info!
