Proteins are OK but all other supplements such as fat burner was a no-no.
I was also told to stop taking any homeopathic med, including herbal teas, a month pre OP.
Aspirin, Ibuprofen, cold/flu pill that also contain them were also to be stopped a week pre OP.

List of things I was taking but told to stop taking a month pre OP were:
Vitamin E, C, Creatine, Vitamin B Complex, MSM, Iron, Papaya Enzyme, Flax seed Oil.

I know some PS would tell you to stop taking Garlic Pills(or even eating Garlic) but I wasn't specifically told anything on Garlic at all.

Interesting fact: My dr. told me to eat pineapple and take papaya tablets to help with bruising to be taken 3-4 days before surgery and continued for awhile after. (maybe 10 days I don't remember for sure) I thought this was interesting because I have not heard that one on here yet. (Have any of you?)

Yeah! My first PS told me about the papaya thing too! But a switch to a real papaya! I remember, my mom cut in pieces and i have to eat it like 10 times a day. After that overdose, i cant eat more papaya lol!! Anyway, I read a about it and is a really good natural antiinflamatory!! It help me a lot specially with my first surgery with unders, swollen a lot!!!
Respect the poll, my PS dont told me nothing about the food just the smoking, alcohol and vitamin E. My redo was today!! yes!, and everything was fine!

I stopped drinking wine and I also stopped smoking non-tobacco products
Alcohol thins your blood and anything in your lungs isn't good before surgery.

The only thing I could take was Tylenol, my BC pills. I drank mostly water... I live in the desert, so PS was BIG on that..... nurse talked to me for several mins about dehydration.... I couldn't even take vits.

Yeah, water is VERY IMPORTANT both pre & post OP - your body needs to be well-hydrated for flushing off impurities out from your system, also promote speedy recovery.
