Ok here's my story,(crease) At first for about a year I had little(in one) or no(in the other) feeling in my nipples. I thought I would have no feeling forever. Then my husband and I decided on my 1year booby anniversary to get our nipples pierced, ---wow did I ever feel that!!!!! I kept them in for 1 year until 3 days ago- I took them out because they were always sore--now, I LOVE them I have all my feeling back and the sensitivity is great!! I forgot how much pleasure it is and am glad to have the feeling back. |

![]() | loss nipple sensation
Oh yeah I lost complete sensation in both my nipples esp my left one. My PS had to reduce the size of my nipple to match my right one. But it's been about 9mths and I have gotten about 80% sensation back in both nipples. Every day, week, and month gets better for me. |

I too voted before reading the post... I'm 1 month out and I never lost any sensitivity. Sure in the beginning the feeling was a bit modified, like swollen up bits of you tend to be, sort of numbish. It seems about the same as before by now though. At times I'm more sensitive than others but that's how I was pre-breast augmentation too... Also some touches that used to feel good don't as much anymore and vice versa, but I think it's more my subconscious than actual feeling involved there. Before I'd get tinglish if my breasts were just brushed over gently and I wanted a good squeeze, now it's the other way around. I think it's because I like my breasts now and feel they're worth caressing gently. Funny, never imagined things like that'd change with a breast augmentation. |

Ok, I didn't vote because so far I don't know.....at first, hyper sensitive, then they calmed down, now some days they are numb and some days they're not.....when I CAN feel them, sometimes it's a good thing, and sometimes it's not lol. So, I'm not sure where I'll end up on this poll....hopefully they'll even out and feel like they did before kids and breast augmentation.....hopefully |

I was more sensitive right after breast augmentation and now there is just the slightest feeling but seems like I really have to think about it, so I vote no feeling. Oh crease incision and cresent lift.

I would say I have less than 5% feeling in my nipples now, than pre breast augmentation. At first they were completely numb...all over. I kept banging into things like the car door...I wasn't allowing enough room for myself ~now I was several inches wider! I wouldn't know about the collision until the car door stopped! During sex & foreplay I was horrified that I had to watch them being touched & kissed to know when I should be excited?! I was devastated as they'd been so sensitive before and my favourite turn on was having them played with...another reason I thought it'd be a great idea to have something big enough to play with.. The bigger the toy, the more joy... LOL Gradually over the 1st year sensation returned from the neck down and at the sides and bottom..but not completely. And there's still a substantial area around the nipples that is still numb. I honestly contemplated the piercing as I probably wouldn't feel a thing. Then I thought well whats the point...I wont be able to feel the pleasure of the piercing..that IS the point isn't it.? Maybe in view of your experience I should get it done?!! When this 3rd surgery I've just had calms down a bit of course! It was very disappointing to lose sensation...I seemed to have had almost every uncommon complication...yes I'm exagerating but I had a hematoma 2 day post op, removal & replacment surgery; sensation issues; uneven breasts & scars; depression & the last...180 degree rotation & revision surgery... Still, I'm glad I got dem...

I'm still only 6 weeks so I didn't vote - but at first they were terribly sensitive and now they're just numb. I really, really hope the sensitivity comes back. The left one seems to have a little more feeling than the the right, that one doesn't even seem to respond to changes in temperature. Anyway, I wanted to say I'm not sure piercing your nipples is the answer to the lost sensitivity. I had my right nipple pierced for several years and it enhanced its sensitivity to pain but not really to pleasure, if that makes sense. I had to make that breast off limits to my boyfriend pretty much and if it was played with, there would be hell to pay later. I had to baby it and cradle it when I was in bed because it would hurt terribly if it got snagged. I guess you could always try it and remove it if it doesn't accomplish what you want. I wonder if it's just a coincidence that the nipple I had pierced is the one that's totally numb now?

After my surgery both my nipples were very sensitive, even wearing a t-shirt without a bra was painful. Now my left one feels numb, but if it's touched or kissed too hard it hurts, so I know I have some feeling. My right seems to be normal, even though the sensations are not the same as they were pre-breast augmentation. I hope that with time they both go back to normal. |

My nipples were numb at first, as a matter of fact, my whole boobies were numb for a while. Now I have all my feeling back. I had TUBA incision, but will be having periariola incision for my symmastia repair and worry if I will loose sensitivity. I will keep you posted.

Kolie, you hopefully will be fine. There is always a risk, apparently with any breast augmentation of loss of sensitivity... I don't know whether it is increased or not by the nipple incision.. I had that and mine are fine - L was a little slow/numb post breast augmentation but is gradually coming back to normal

![]() | lost it but still waiting
I am 8 months away since my boobs got enhanced and I have to say I lost my sensitivity to the right one. On the nipple and the area around it. My doctor says that it will come back totally with time and I don't know what to believe. He had more than 2000 interventions done by himself and is told to be one of the most experienced doctor in Europe for this kind of surgery. Will it ever come back? I kind of miss the sensations it used to give me. I am happy I still have my left one at least! How long does it normally take for it to come back when it does? Is there also the possibility it will never come back? Forgot to say, inframammary cut. Tks girls! Last edited by Zolsit; 05-20-2007 at 04:42 PM. Reason: forgot to mention |

Mine were fine. I was expecting horrible ultra-sensitivity or numbness but I didn't have any change. I lost sensation around the rest of my breast though. It's progressively returned but still not completely (I'm 6 months post-op). I had the crease incision. |

It sounds like your nipple piercing gave you some trouble which is a shame like I said I had mine done twice and didn't experience much pain at all - In fact it increased sensitivity - quite alot. I have also had a lump removed from my right breast and the cut was made through the nipple. So all round really strange that it is that one that is fine. Must be hard core by now after all that trauma - the left nipple is a bit of a wimp by comparison !!!! ![]() x

I said yes, but only on one side. This only lasted a couple of days, and during those days not only my nipple but half of my breast (right) was kinda numb. It was somewhat unpleasant, but with all the pain I barely noticed! Anyway, it's all better now!

After reading most of the responses I was still left wondering. I'm about 4 weeks PO. Worried that my areolar incisions would make it more likely that I may lose sensation. I started looking for a test for nipple sensation. Instead came across a study with these results: "Results: Primary augmentation mammaplasty was found to have a statistically significant negative effect on sensory outcomes when nonoperated controls were compared with women who had undergone augmentation mammaplasty via either the periareolar or inframammary approach. No differences in sensory outcomes were found between the two approaches used. Implant volume was found to be highly predictive of sensory outcomes, with an inverse relationship between implant size and the degree of sensitivity within the nipple-areola complex. Conclusions: Plastic surgeons should feel comfortable counseling patients that augmentation mammaplasty by either the inframammary or periareolar approach results in no discernible differences in sensory outcomes. Furthermore, women who choose very large implants relative to their breast skin envelopes should be warned about potential adverse sensory sequelae within the nipple-areola complex. (C)2006American Society of Plastic Surgeons" This is making me feel better. I believe I'm regaining feeling but my entire breast is still numb so I'm not surprised the areolas/nipples are as well. Keeping my fingers crossed. |
