Did you lose nipple sensitivity?

Hi girls,
reading another post this question came to my mind...

After your BA, did you lose nipple sensitivity?
- Yes, completly
- No, not at all
- Yes, on 1 side only
- Yes, but only very slightly

Please only take the poll after you've been about 2months post op, since they say in the beggining you can't really tell, or it may seem like you didn't lose any, due to post op sensitivity, but then you may realize you did... or vice versa! (of course, if you're post re-do, you obviously have an experience to share)
Also, if it doesn't say so in your siggy, tell us which incision you had

I will start:
Peri-areola incision
Right after my BA, I could totally feel both my nipples. They were actually pretty sensitive to the touch.
After they healed more, I realized when my DH kissed my L nipple, I could see him do it but feel nothing at all!! I was mortified.
Now, I feel his mouth on my L nipple, but I still don't have that normal sensitivity. I can feel it slightly, but not in an erotic way.
My right is fine, and I feels almost like preBA (of course, it's not exactly the same due to the foreign object in my body, but there is sensitivity for sure).

I put one side only.....

Straight after the ba, they were hyper sensitive for about a month or so...so painful when touched....

Then, as OH kissed them, like Paula i noticed i liked watching him, but on the left, i could feel nothing...only very slight sensation on the right, but nothing that made me wanna jump off the wardrobe and land on him...

Now, ive discovered that if i am on all 4s (tmi?) and he is tweaking them, the right is feeling rather good and left seems to be learning...

But, another interesting fact, the other night, i realised that there is slight numbness under the right boob, id never noticed it before, but then i wasnt looking for it.......COME BACK SENSITIVITY I SAY !

Edit: oooops, forgot, crease incision

hey P, im a little over 2 months. crease incision. i voted no not at all. the first few wks they were super sensitive where i didnt want anything touching them at all. now they are still sensitive to touch but not bad. when hubby touches, kisses, or gently squeezes them im like "ouchie" but its not terrible or anything.

i voted for yes completely as i cant feel a thing apart from a bit of pain on myright nipple if its touched! feels like its been pierced and i know whats that like i used to have one done, so im hoping the pain is ths start of some regeneration for the feeling!

i don't think i can go back and edit the poll, but i guess we'll just say:
Not at all - or increased sensitivity!

Poor righty

I had a lift and the aereola incision my first time around 2 years ago, and I never did get all the sensation back in righty. I can feel pressure on her and some pain if she's pinched but that's about it. 2nd time around crease incision, made no difference. Boobs still the same...but such is the price we pay for nice boobies!!!

Mine were super sensitive and painful for the first month or so, then they settled down and all the pre op feeling came back, so I voted no, I didn't loose any sensitivity. (still have some numb spots in other places tho)

I had my incision at the areola...my feeling in my nipples is fine, maybe TOO fine...lol...however, I lost sensitivity directly under both nipples, on my skin. I barely think about it now, doesn't bother me at all...I don't think I'll regain it.

For me, this is a price to pay (that I'm willing to pay) in order to have breasts that make me feel pretty...my breasts were just empty balloons, and devastating to me. I'm willing to forgo sensitivity on part of my skin...no problem.

I lost all sensation on the left and right is not as sensitive as it use to be. Although they were never "sensitive."

I had a full anchor lift so the fact that I can still feel one of the nipples is pretty amazing to me. I also agree with the others in it was a small price to pay.

Thumbs up Thanks for the Poll

Thank you for sharing ladies....It really helps me gather as much info to decide whether or not I will get a BA. I want to know if anyone who had theirs done before childrbirth experienced deformities after breastfeeding.

Thanks AGAIN!!

I voted, "No, not at all" but if there was an option for temporarily, that would have been a better choice for me. It was about 9 months before I regained all my sensation. I have more sensation now than I did pre-ba. I have crease incisions.

Verosa,

Any time you have any type of surgery on your breast you risk sensation changes or even sensation loss. There are no guarantees that sensation will return. Just something to keep in mind and think about.

I can't help with your breastfeeding question, I had my BA after having my children.

No, I didn't lose any nipple sensitivity post BA, (I am 3 1/2 mos. out at present), but then my ps went with the crease incision so I think this is why.

Best wishes from bookyone

Talking

Ok here's my story,(crease)

At first for about a year I had little(in one) or no(in the other) feeling in my nipples. I thought I would have no feeling forever. Then my husband and I decided on my 1year booby anniversary to get our nipples pierced,
---wow did I ever feel that!!!!!
I kept them in for 1 year until 3 days ago- I took them out because they were always sore--now, I LOVE them I have all my feeling back and the sensitivity is great!!
I forgot how much pleasure it is and am glad to have the feeling back.
