![]() | Girls w/ Silicone: Which Incision?
For all the ladies with silicone implants, would you mind letting us know what incision site you chose? Also, it would be AWESOME if you could also post the reason(s) WHY you/your PS chose that incision site. Thanks! PS: Yes, I know that silicone via the transaxillary incision is rare, but I've heard of it occuring. That's why I listed it as an option.

I have the peri-areolar incision, my PS highly recommend it. I'm glad he did it there because you can hardly even notice my scar=)

Crease - that's just what my PS prefers, so I didn't question it. In my case it happens to work out best because I'm getting 375-400cc HP (hopefully!) and I don't know if that could fit via nipple incision.

I already had a c section scar that didn't heal the best and so I was worried that a nipple scar would look similar. Also, that's what he prefers to do and w/ the size that I went w/ the incision needed to be slightly longer to fit it in. I have the crease incision.

I chose the inframammary incision because my research indicated it was the easiest view for the surgeon and was associated with less complications than the others. I wanted to make my chances for success as high as I could and since I was already doing overs and those have added risk, for me this made me feel most like I was helping him mitigate complications.

One reason I chose inframammary was because my PS pointed out that if there was ever a complication and he had to go back in, it would be easier to go back through inframammary. He was willing to do transaxillary but said that in the case of a complication he would have to go back in inframammary leaving me with multiple insicion scars.

I'm getting my 600cc HP silicones through a peri-areolar incision. I don't know how he's going to do it but we'll see soon! I had my first breast augmentation that way so he's just using the same scar.

Crease - he would have done areloa or transaux also but he thinks the crease gives consistently the best results. Areloa is his next favourite but he says if it does scar a bit which can happen then it would "drive me mad". Transaux was least preferred as it may limit some clothing choices if the scar is noticable. HTH |

I chose peri-areolar incision because my PS recommended it and DH said he preferred that type over crease.

![]() | Hello! I had my breast augmentation via inframammary fold it has been stated that having a breast augmentation via inframammary fold can cause less infections and less complications. Plus my PS told me their is a lower risk if i every wanted to breast feed. Good luck! |

Crease as well, both with my first breast augmentation almost 14 years ago and with the second (4 days ago), using the old scar again. In the mean time I had and successfully nursed two kids. Don't know the stats, but I can imagine that a nipple incision might possibly interfere with some augmented women nursing. But I don't know the stats, so don't just listen to me |

My PS didn't give me the choice, he does only crease incision. I have darker olive skin and still have visible scars, but doesn't matter...DH doesn't care and my boobs look good anyway, LOL.

I didn't know I could pick the site. My ps choose crease. I don't have a problem with this except my bra rubs and that can be uncomfortable.

I chose crease because I had some extra skin removed to reduce any sagginess. I had saline implants before I switched to silicone and there was a bit of tissue that kinda hung.. So my PS gave me my lift like that! I am very happy with the results!

Areolar. My implants were small enough that they fit through comfortably, and my scars are INVISIBLE. They are simply not there. I've already had and breastfed my babies so the milk thing wasn't an issue. However, if I were young and hadn't had babies yet, I would've done the inframammary incision, just to be safe on the breastfeeding thing.
