Sleeping thank God! I did not want to be there - besides I thought you needed to be put under general if you were getting unders so they could relax your pec muscles.

I had general anesthesia for my breast augmentation. I do prefer general over twilight, I have had twilight for some dental work. |

I had twilight and was completely out of it - for all I was aware of, it may as well have been a GA but I was happy with my choice and would do so again if needed.

The first PS I had a consult with used twillight and that scared the mess out of me!! haha. I eventually chose a great doctor who just happened to use general. I was very pleased with not knowing a thing happened until practically the next day...

i had general i don't think i'd mind the other type either, I am sure you can't feel a thing or they wouldn't do it!! but yes, the idea of being concious while it's all happening is kinda weird unless you are so cold blooded that you can actually participate and tell the doc.. " oh no, Go BIGGER than that!!! .. a little bigger still.... hummm, ok, let's see a little bigger now... Nah, that's too much, back to where we were and we're perfect~~~!!!!" hehe.. just kidding, but wouldn;t it be AWESOME to literally CHOSE your size on you??? haha

![]() | General
I've had two procedures and with both I had general, but they were different. I got the chatters with both, but with this one, I got a really sore throat. I wasn't expecting that and could rememdy it with gargling with warm water and salt, but baby when I got home I wanted to gargle on NOTHING but a pillow! LOL

My surgeon uses twilight but they told me that you are still asleep - as a patient, you aren't supposed to know the difference - but your body can still breathe on its own and you are sleeping just below the conscience level as opposed to deep, deep sleep. I'm nervous now - and I have my pre-op next week, so I will definately be asking for further clarification.... they told me they prefer twilight because they don't have to use a breathing tube and the recover process is easier for patient (I'm presuming they meant the recovery room - getting ready to leave and go home .... not the ENTIRE recovery process).
