are complications common?

Is it just me or is there a lot of people on here with complications?

Now im going in on april 15th to get mine done, and im a little bit worried that im going to get cc, or bottom out, or get double bubble.

are all these complications as common as they seem on here? Or is it just because when something bad happens, people start searchng online and just happen to find this site?

Its just awful hearing about all these poor poor girls with these complications & i just feel so bad for everyone with them after all their dreams of having boobs are just blown out the water...and i just hope its not as common as it seems

If your boobs are OK but just a bit too small (or too big), forget about an operation. If you do the sum of all possible complications and poor results, you get a failure rate of how much? At least 30% IMO.

I am only 4 months post op, so there is still plenty of time to develop a complication. My only bother at the moment is rippling. As yet it is not visible, and if it stays this way I am more than happy, and if that is the only issue I have with my boobies, then I am very lucky indeed.

most people i know with breast augmentation have had at lwast two jobs, either a compliaction or booby greed!! Complication wise my ps told me with the bigger implants problems normally start after they are a few years old. I think the best thing to do is always follow the ps advise and the risks will be alot lower. I loved my first breast augmentation but bottomed out after my baby. I did start to get rippling before but i was silly and did not follow the ps advise (he said i wanted too big ones for the amount of breast tissue and size of me).

If i had not bottomed out i would of kept them with the rippling as thats just a minor thing. I still loved them with rippling than i did pre breast augmentation.

i don't regret getting them done at all just wish i had researched more and listened a bit more to my ps!!

You have to figure, a lot of the women who have no complications stop logging in to JBI once they get their breast augmentation and recover. It's fewer people that don't have complications who stay on for months or years after their breast augmentation.

So I think - while complications do happen - you can't go just by the number of posts on JBI.

I don't have any complications and I've stuck around! I'm six months out and very happy. If you are informed about the risks and are prepared that they may happen to you and still want the procedure then go for it. What breaks my heart is when girls get this done and have no idea about possible problems! They have done no research and don't even know what CC is.

Wow...the poll closed quickly, huh? I think the complication rate becomes somewhat statistically significant after a few years. I remember reading some research study on various complications. However, what struck me the most was when one of the surgeons on the forum stated there are many many women walking around with bottoming out who don't know it. That makes a lot of sense to me. I have a feeling malposition is more common than we know also. Of course, CC would be less common, but I've also read that many women walk around with grade II CC and don't really know it. HTH?
