How long from "I want" to "I have!"

It has been at least 10 years of wondering, and after the kids at least 2 good years of knowing I wanted it, but it was only a week ago my golden opportunity more or less fell in my lap, I have been floating a few inches off the ground ever since- now I'm sure, for sure, for sure and I can't wait!

I voted Others. I always wanted boobs but the thought of actually getting breast augmentation done had never ever crossed my mind until 8 ~ 9 years ago but then I was "in-between" and on/off about it even after started researching on PS.

I didn't vote because I'm not sure how to answer. I've wanted them since HS, and my husband never wanted me to get them, plus I always felt guilty about spending that much money on myself. I finally decided to just do it, and looked online for doctors for about a month (maybe less), went to a consult, and had surgery two weeks later.

It was a good 7 to 8 years ago that I decided I wanted them but I wanted to have my children and then the perfect time came. Wish I would of had them sooner though!

About 3 weeks really. I went for lipo consult, and kind of decided that day out of the blue. Went back the next week and signed up. I never thought I would do it, but it just went so quick.

Its been a thought in the back of my mind for a good 8 years. But I only really starting to get the ball rolling this year at the end of August, and my op is mid October. =)

About 10 years for me. I wanted them when i was 15-16 in high school. My ex husband wouldnt let me get them and after that I kept finding reasons not to do it. Well I finally did and couldnt be happier!!

I had wanted implants since I was 21, and didn't get them until I turned 37. I kept saying to myself that I didn't need them. I was flat chested. One day when I went shopping for a dress to go out, and couldn't find anything to wear, that's when I decided that it was time. I set up a consultation, and had my surgery 2 weeks after the consult which was during my Christmas vacation! BEST DECISION THAT I EVER MADE!

I've wanted them for precisely 7 years. That is when I weaned my first born and looked down and wondered where my boobs had gone.

I waited b/c I wanted more children and didn't want to do it until I was finished having babies.

Well, I just weaned my youngest one month ago and within a week booked two PS appointments. I haven't had my breast augmentation yet, but I plan to have it in either February or March. (I want it in Jan, but my nanny is going away for holidays for a month and I know I'll need her help post-op)

I am glad I waited b/c I'm pretty sure 7yrs ago they wouldn't do silicone in Cda, and now they do.

I chose less than 6 months. I have wanted bigger breasts, but have gone back and forth of whether I wanted implants or not. Especially because of the stigma it holds here in the OC! I went for consults 6 years ago, then decided it wasn't the best time financially. A couple of months ago I was informed that I would have several weeks off in December, and the first thing that jumped into my mind was that this would be an awesome time to get boobs b/c I would have plenty of recovery time w/o having to use up all my vacation pay! So from that time on would be less than 6 months!

I am reposting to say that I booked my breast augmentation for Dec! Yay! So 7yrs from the first time I thought about it, but from Sept 2009 to Dec 2009 from seriously considering it, to actually doing it.

I picked less than 6 mos.. I never wanted a breast augmentation, infact I was against it for health reasons that I deal with.. I mean sure I thought it would be GREAT to have them

haha.. But after I stopped BF my daughter (bf for 2.5 yrs) and my oldest for 18 mos.. I took a look at my boobs , well I tried NOT to look at them.. haha they were soo UGLY and embarrassed me

I had no self esteem.. So I decided in May I wanted them, Had to wait 3 mos because of just weaning her.. and then in Aug I got them. SO happy I did too

I knew after I nursed my first born that I was going to do this, but wanted to wait until I was done having children. So, If I use that timeline it was 6 years. However once I was done having children and started talking about it again, it was only 4 months. Im still shocked that I carried through with it.
