How long from "I want" to "I have!"

It will be less than six months by the time I get them. Went on my first consult in October and will be Feb when I get them. Had to make sure I had the money first.

Its been 5 years for me, so i voted 4 - 5.

I knew since i was 15/16 that something was up with my "development" and i would tell my mum i wanted breasts implants. Since school nothing has changed.

I would have had them when i turned 18 but i was underweight for a long time, still kinda am, but my GP told me i was too light weight to have surgery and it would be a risk. She sent me to a clinic/therapist to help me with my eating when i was in college, my mum would go with me and i wouldn't tell anyone.
I found out i had some kind of eating disorder. Just shyness of eating near Anyone. Sounds silly doesn't it.

Anyway the past year i gained some weight and eventually have set a date.
I never thought i would be able to have surgery due to what i was told about my weight.. I wonder now if it was all bollocks just to prevent me having surgery at a young age.
If so then to hell with them because that's 5 years of misery about my body.

I booked a consult fairly quickly ( march 2009) Had the operation nov 09.

I waited for a few reasons
1: I work seasonally and decided I would book it for when the golf course closed ( we closed oct 18th) so my app't for surgery was booked for nov 2- 09

Also I needed to save up and pay down some CCards.

Once I had the consult I knew I wanted to make it a for sure plan

i could have cared less about breast implants before i had my son 4 years ago. My boobs were fine, plus i was more into my arms, tummy and butt more than any other body part. End of that story when my milk dried up and my breasts deflated like a flat tire! from then on i was on a boob hunt! after 3yrs and 10 months i finally got em!

I've been contemplating it in the back of my head since I was probably 16 or younger. However, I didn't seriously start to think about it until I was 18, and I decided this spring/early summer to go for it. By the time I work out money, it'll probably be closer to 9 months to a year from the time I decided to get it done.

I have always been athletic and flat chested. Had 2 babies and breastfed both of them for 1 year each (the only time in my life that I actually had breasts and felt like a 'woman'). I am otherwise very happy with my body and the lack of breasts actually fit quite well with my active lifestyle. Can you say, unattractive???

Anyway, I have thought about breast implants most of my adult life, but always talked myself out of it.....until about 3.5 months ago when a friend of mine had her breast augmentation. It looked SO natural! I have always worried that it would be obviously FAKE looking if I had a breast augmentation.....but after seeing hers, I knew it was possible to have a 'natural look'.

I booked my consultation and was able to get in for mid-Sept. I had my mind made up about 80% but had to hear what the PS had to say about placement, recovery time, type of implant, size, and expected outcomes, before I knew for sure if it was for me.

I knew immediately after the consult that I wanted a breast augmentation! I booked it and got my surgery date of October 29. About 6 weeks after my consult!

I am still early in the healing process, but I couldn't be happier!!!!

Waited way too long have wanted them ever since I finished breastfeeding 22 yrs ago but we put the kids thru private schools and it always seemed there was something more important to spend the money on but I realized that I so wanted this and it was time to spend money on me something I have never really done. Wish I had done it sooner even though I have yet to enjoy them from complications I still have no regrets love them.

for me, i wanted to research everything i could first on BAs and the different implants available before i even started looking at my ability to pay for it

While I've always thought I wanted implants since high school because I've never really had a chest, I didn't firmly decide it was going to happen until after I'd been lifting weights for a couple of months and my already small breasts went down yet another cup size to almost nothing but breast bone.

What was really surprising to my friends is that I said I was serious about getting them, got the go ahead to research the price from my DH, scheduled a pre-op and then the surgery all within about a month... and every waking moment of those 4-6 weeks was spent obsessing over information, sizes, results, complications and all the ladies stories on this board 24/7!!

I can't imagine waiting for years... but I see tickers on ladies' responses waiting for months & years... I'd have driven my DH and friends CRAZY with my back & forth, second guessing and perusing of before/after photos with that much time!! Not to mention, my job was poorly suffering because I spent so much time online researching when I should have been working!!

oh well! It's done and over now!

I had consults in Dec. 2008 thinking I would get them in March 2009, but in january we decided to build a house so my breast augmentation dreams were put on hold. In Sept. after we moved in I just said it's now or never and called and booked my surgery for Dec. 23rd 2009.

Really though, I have always wanted a breast augmentation but I finally reached a point in my life where I don't feel guilty spending the money on it, and my husband is supportive of it and I really think it's now or never!!!

I picked 6 mos - 1 yr. I never even considered breast augmentation until I stopped breastfeeding my year old twins in in Oct '08 and saw what I was left with.... saggy, yucky, even smaller than before boobs. Very depressing. But I made myself wait a year to see if my boobs would "bounce back" or look any better over time, and they did not. So I had my consults in Sept '09 and my breast augmentation in Oct '09. So happy I went for it!

I've always wanted them my whole life but never seriously sat down and thought about it. I had a very rough summer and was very down, I really wanted to do something for myself. I was on the phone with my sister and just out of the blue I felt like getting implants and she thought it was a great idea.. it was very random lol I did a ton of research and by the next week I had made myself an appointment. I called late August, my consult was in October and my surgery was in November!

I voted less than 6 months. It'll actually be about 1 month from the time I decided until the date of my surgery, if all goes well. Once I make up my mind, there's no turning back!

I've been wanting boobs for a long time (I'm 27 years old), but never thought implants were for me. But I am sick of being miserable and now I'm SO excited for the change that's about to happen!

I thought about it four years ago, when I had the money. Then other expenses hit so i put it on hold. Didn't really think of it much until this November. I had my consult the week before Thanksgiving and had my surgery on 12/3. It was one of those "if I don't do it now, I won't do it" things. SOOOO glad I did!

I literally decided that I wanted breast implants one day when I was online & saw an ad for plastic surgery. I researched it for a few hours & booked a consult that day. Had my consult 5 days later then had my breast augmentation/BL 2 weeks later! So it was a pretty quick decision! I'm giving my re-do a little more thought tho.

I voted 4-5 years. I started thinking about and talking openly about wanting bigger breasts since I was around 15 or 16 however I didnt really get serious about researching and doctors and talking to other girls about it, untill about 2-3 years ago. So once I found my doctor it was only about 1 month from I want to I have but once I decided I seriously wanted to I have them it was about 2 years.

ever since i didnt develop more than an A cup from 14 onwards i knew that one day, as soon as i could get them i was going to get them done. im 18 now and just got them done 6 days ago =) after a 4 year wait i had saved up enough money and reached the age where i was legally allowed to do it (my parents understandably wouldnt consent to it) everything was falling into place after my first consult in early November. i fell in love with my surgeon and after my first consult ever i booked my surgery date for mid december. that was the easy part! the wait has been worth it, but still sorta get body blues over the fact that im not naturally beautiful and how hard i had to work for it compared to the rest of the lucky population!
just feel so much better about myself already and they havent really dropped yet!!
