I have silicone and love them! I'd get them again if I had to do it all over again. IMO, they're softer and feel more natural. I don't even know they're there when I massage them. But, the real test will be this summer when my DH comes back home. I let you know then what his input is in this matter. |

Before breast augmentation, My PS recommended silicon. I decided saline. Now I'm 1 year post op. I have rippling. I went strip club with My husband last week. and I felt dancer's breast, both girl have silicon. Their breast was much softer and natural . I wish I got silicon and If I will redo I'm going to switch to silicon.

silicone for me. the 2 ladies that worked at my ps's office both had implants, 1 had saline, and the other silicone. they both let me cop a feel (lol!), and the silicone felt nicer =)

I have salines. In my mind, it is like this (for those afraid because of safety): the Mentor pamphlet explicitly states that salines deflate (obviously) and shows the incidence. It also says Silicones rupture and shows the incidence. These are just facts, so no one can say 'sils don't rupture' as Mentor is telling us they do. In BOTH the incidences are very small, but salines are a bit larger. Just go to the Mentor website and find the pamphlets, it's all public knowledge. Anyway, basically, I saw it this way: I know I have enough breast tissue to adequately cover a saline implant and not have it look like a basketball under my skin. From what I gathered from photos and speaking with people, if you have enough breast tissue beforehand, the difference in feel between silicone and saline is minimal, and I will say that I am two weeks out with salines and this is 100 percent true, in my case. They are, of course, still firm, being so new, but each day get more and more jiggly. I have the utmost confidence in my PS and he only does the natural look, and so far, my results go along with what he believes in. I am under the impression one of the ways you notice rippling in salines more is with a lot of weight loss. I am currently comfortable with my weight, so this was also not a concern of mine. If you feel ANY slight inclination that you are concerned with the safety of silicones, I would say not to get them. Implants are not forever. The end of the big silicone study is in about three years, and within that amount of time or longer, you will probably undergo a lot of changes in your life and perhaps be reconsidering a redo, even. In this case, wouldn't you rather get silicones when you never had to worry about what the silicone material is doing to our body on the inside? It, to me, (though I place judgment on no one else) is peace of mind. The "cutting open salines vs. silicones" video is referenced a lot on this site as "pro-silicone" which I frankly do not understand. You can see, in the video, the inside of the implant leaves a snail trail of residue all over the countertop where the doctor is and is also sticking to his hands, leaving some sort of sticky substance. No, it does not leak out like water. However, if my saline breaks open, water goes into my body and is absorbed and that's it. Water is water. I would rather not have that residue sticking in me (or at least not until it is 100 percent cleared from the study). But that's just me and I am in love with my salines

With my petite frame I think silicone was the best choice for me. Majority of women I have talked to that have had redos replaced their saline with silicone. I don't know which feels more natural because I've never felt other women's boobies.

i thought silicone felt much nicer but went with saline as i was afraid of it leaking (my ps does silicone GEL not cohesive... there's a big difference), so if you go with silicone make sure you know what you get. my saline feel really nice, you can feel the implant "bag" only when squeezing it hard near the bottom. doesn't bother me one bit. i'm happy i can tell when i have a leak. if in a few years i need a redo and theres more out there on silicone i'll prob go with those (if my ps offers the cohesive!) |
