Did you wear a bra after BA?

So today at my last appointment I was told, "Absolutely NO SPORTS BRAS!!!" I hear everyone on here saying they wore them after their breast augmentation. He said it compresses your boobs flat and can make the pocket bigger, so they could fall to the side.

So what did you wear?

I couldn't respond to the surgery -- my surgoen had me in an underwire (not one he gave me) -- from day 6 on. He wants me in it 24/7 for four months. I wear a sports bra when I work out that is about it. I do notice they get squished -- unless I wear my LULU lemon sports bra which is amazing-- like super comfortable normal bra....HTH.

my ps told me in my particular case, absolutely not to wear a sports bra. he had me get an underwire support bra since the day after surgery.

it's funny how all surgeon's say difference things. I was told absolutely no underwire bras for 6 months. I just was able to start wearing wireless bras (6 weeks PO). I had to wear a sports bra 24/7 for 6 weeks, now I can sleep without a bra.

My ps gave me a sports bra but it had velcro. Wore it for the first week then I said good bye to and never looked back!

i was told to go braless as much as possible to help the implants drop, and when I did wear a sportsbra, make sure it was loose and didn't compress too much but gave at least a little support.

Nothing.. Had the strap for 2weeks and then NADA. He said not to wear a bra for 3months or until I feel like it's dropped to the level I wanted... but for me, I could if I needed to after 2months or so for support, since my implants are pretty big for my size.

Yes I had to wear a sports bra for about 6 weeks then I could finally wear underwire! I think it's cause I had a lift tho. Guess the PS wanted to make sure it held? Dunno but I liked wearing the sports bra! Maybe I'm weird

I had a full anchor lift w/ my breast augmentation & was told no bra. after 6wks I could wear a wireless if I wanted to, but to go braless as much as possible. also no underwires (only 1x a week) ever. they did drop beautifully.

Right after my breast augmentation I had one of those surgical velcro bras on, then when I went for my post op a week later he told me I could wear a sports bra or one of those cami shirts with a bra built in. He wasn't too specific about it, so I ended up getting some full support bras (no underwire) from target because it was nearly impossible for me to find a cheaper sports bra with clips. I am not going to spend $40 on a bra I won't fit into next week!

I had to purchase a sports bra that was my pre breast augmentation size so that the compression would help with any swelling after my surgery. I wore that for 7 days and after that I could wear whatever I wanted, even underwire.

I had to wear the bra (a compression bra or surgical bra) that my ps gave me for the first 14 days. After that I was given permission to wear any other bra excluding push-ups. At my 5 week check, I was told all bras are ok.

I took my own surgical bra with me on surgery day but I voted bra given by PS which was the closest option. Then at 2 weeks I was to change to underwire. No push-up bras or any other bra that would change the shape of the boobs in any way. I compromised and am wearing an underwire sports bra.

Ditto. I brought an XL sports bra (zip) to the surgery and left wearing that along w/ a 6 inch wide ACE bandage wrapped tightly over the bra. Wore that for a week. At my first post-op appt he said to continue wearing the sports bra 24/7 (unless I'm going out for a nice evening, etc..meaning, a few hours won't hurt) and then along w/ that, a 'breast wrap' that is basically the same as the ACE, but more narrow (don't really get the difference).

I asked what the deal was for with all the wrapping (because they are smooshed together). he said because he did the capsulluraphy (stiches from the inside to close the size of the pockets and create more cleavage), i needed to keep them pushed together to help them to go that way naturally.

After 6 weeks (from surgery) i can wear whatever i want including underwire.
