I used silicone strips for the first 3-4 months, after that once my breasts dropped and the crease got more defined I started sweating them off. Since them I've been applying BM regenerative gel on the incisions once or twice a day, or regular unscented moisturizer if I haven't had my gel available.

Hi
I'm using Dermatix, a silicone gel which i apply once daily. It was prescribed to me by my PS and is supposed to flatten and fade scars. Seems to be doing the trick. http://www.dermatix.co.uk/portal SweetyJxx |

I have made the decision today to start using something for my areola incision scars. I have kept spitting stitches so I was hesitant to use anything until now. Hopefully i won't spit anymore. I have Scargo: scar massage skin lotion by home health (bought it at the health food store due to a friend recommending it. I also have Mederma and also vitamin E oil. What to try first? Has anybody used this Scargo stuff? Happy Thursday to you all.

I Used Vitamin E previously and found that I always got good results. I did try the Neosporin scar strips but found I seen faster results with the vitamin E. For my TT incision this time I think I will use vitamin E and try scar guard together as I have a raised scar and I heard that scar guard works best on raised scars so we will see when I start that in hopefully another week or so.

I got Scarguard, Bio Oil, and Neosporin Scar sheets to use when I get clearance from my PS. I always have vitamin E on hand & may use that along w/all the other goodies.
![]() Does anyone know if you can cut the Neosporin sheets? I checked all over the box and couldn't find anything about not cutting them to the desired size. ~Kim |

My first BA surgery I faithfully used Vitamin E and the results were great. Scars healed beautifully.
This time (2nd BA and breast lift, done 8/2007), my PS actually gave me a tube of Scar Fade and I alternate with Vitamin E at night. Because I have a vertical scar this time from the breast lift, I am also trying Curad Scar Therapy (similar to Neosporin Silicon Pads). Still too early to know if they work...will keep you all posted. www.justbreastimplants.com/Ciaravino/ Last edited by Nikki; 02-28-2008 at 01:39 AM. |

I haven't had my surgery yet, but I have had other surgeries and vitamin E and mederma both worked for me...vitamin E is cheaper so I would go with that

Scar Guard
Its the BEST!!! www.scarguard.com Its about 70 dollars, but after spending so much on a BA I cant see how not to spend a little extra to make sure the scars are heal in the best way possible. its worth it!! I heard great thing about it, the website is very informative you can buy a smaller bottle for less. The girls I talked to afterwards used it and state it was most effective helpin to lower and soften up the scars.

I was kind of a freak about scarring so as soon as my PS gave me the go ahead to put stuff on them, i did! for about the first month-2 month i was braking open a vitamin e capsule and putting it on each scar and then covering my whole breasts with coco butter. that seemed to help my scars greatly! I have also been using the neosporin scar sheet and my scars are barely visable now!!!!!!! Also before my BA i was using coco butter on my breasts twice daily to make sure my skin was very mosturized so I wouldnt end up with stretch marks.....and I didnt!!!! YAY!!!
I think the most important thing is to get the ok from your PS before putting anything on them!

i called my surgery today and my PS advised that the best way (he feels) for the scar to heal is naturally. I am allowed to use Bio-Oil and Vitamin E on the rest of my breats but not on the scars. He said not even after a few months should I be putting anything on the scars.
It's amazing how many different point of views our PS have on this kind of thing hey!! I think it's best to listen to what your PS says
