Hi. I made a quick trip into my PS yesterday to have his nurse check out my scar line. I had crease incisions and last time they turned into keloids. I had a big bump at the beginning of the scar line that was really sore and they wanted to make sure it wasn't the start of infection.
Turns out it's not infection, but the start of a keloid again. Ick. So I am starting to use Curad Scar Therapy and keeping my fingers crossed. I am not that concerned about the looks, but more concerned that it will rub and be sore. The good news was that the nurse was thrilled with my results. She was skeptical of going to the 500 range. They have already dropped (I guess b/c it was a redo). She also told me no massaging for now. My right pocket was way too big and my PS had to stitch it up. So...no encouraging it to get bigger again...unless I want a boob under my armpit. Thanks for reading! Jill |

You should look into getting Mesotherapy for you scar. They are a series of injections which help to flatten and fade the scar. Ive seen it work amazingly.
Either that or you may have to get a complete scar revision where they actually cut out your scar, and stich ya back up..... icky. But, it does work! Either way.... good luck! |

Thanks for the advice. I started using Curad scartherapy and they have really smoothed out! It's strange what a difference I am seeing so far! Hopefully I won't need the mesotherapy in the future!

Glad to hear that everything is turning out ok. I am still in the researching phases of this whole BA thing and this is the first time I have heard about keloids. Can you tell me what exactly this is? Thanks for the information, this is why I love this website. I haven't even had my consultation yet, but I already and learning SO much information about the whole BA process.
Thanks again. |

I am not the expert on scarring...so this is just my understanding. I just copied this from wiki. A keloid is a special type of scar which results in an overgrowth of tissue at the site of a healed skin injury. Keloids are firm, rubbery lesions or shiny, fibrous nodules and can vary from pink to flesh-colored or red to dark brown in color.
They didn't really bother me, but they would sometimes itch or become sore if they rubbed on the wire on my bra. My understanding is that some people genetically tend to get them when they are healing. GL! Jill |
