Question Solarium and scars

So i'm like almost 11mths post-op and i've been avoiding my crease scars being exposed to the solarium for this long. I always cover my scars with bandaids when i go... except now coming up to my holiday and summer i really don't want rectangle white areas that may be visible when just wearing a bikini.

I was wondering if it would be safe to start exposing my scars to the solarium or if anyone has a better idea of how i can protect my scars? eg something that is not as wide as a bandaid.... what do other people use?

Thanks ladies,

Rachael

I use bandaids and a bikini top It's safe to start exposing the scars to sunlight as soon as they've 100% turned to white. If they're still dark somewhere you run the risk of turning those areas even darker, and it'll never fade away but will become a permanent area of hyperpigmentation.

I say just rub some zinc oxide on the incisions. Don't know what else to tell you.
You can probably put a small amount just on the incision that way..

Yeah mine are completely white- thanks for letting me know that. So I guess it should be okay now.

I can hardly see the scars now, the other thing that i notice is the big white rectangles under my boobs.... very attractive they are.... not!

Good suggestion, i don't have any zinc but perhaps some SPF15+ might be a good idea for the first few times in the solarium so i don't burn them as that area is pretty white.
