Sleeping
Hi everyone,
Just a quick question...I feel like maybe I am being paranoid. You know how the first couple of weeks you are supposed to sleep on your back? Well, that is starting to get really hard for me, the only way I can sleep through the night doing that is if I take tylenol PM - a couple so they knock me out, if not, I am sleeping only a few hours. Just wondering when you all started sleeping on your sides and stomach. I am scared to sleep on my stomach, like I will crush the implants, they aren't that delicate though, are they? 305cc silicone partial unders

I am 2 1/2 wks post op and am just starting to be able to sleep on my side. The right side (where I had my hematoma) is still too uncomfortable.

I just started to sleep on my sides this week and I am also slightly elevated with extra pillows still to relief some of the discomfort. I have never been a back sleeper, so I was also having a very difficult time getting any rest on my back.

I'm 21 days po and just starting to sleep on my side; it seems to be getting easier each night. You don't need to worry about crushing the implants, that shouldn't happen; but I would imagine it would be quite painful...it surely would for me! I would check w/your PS...

I am just 2 weeks post op and last night a slept on my side half way, if that makes sense. Try to lay on your side just slightly and if that feels fine, try to completely lay on your side and if it feels ok then your fine. You'll know when your ready b/c it won't hurt or feel funny. Not sure about sleeping on the stomach b/c I don't sleep that way. HTH

I started sleeping on my side 3 days after surgery. Just make sure you're elevated too.

Awesome! Thanks everyone! Gonna try the halfway side thing tonight, maybe if I put a pillow too, that might help.
Yay for Tylenol PM too!

Hi, I'm 15 days post op and I can comfortably lay on my side now. I do have a water bed though and it makes it very comfortable.

I started to half sleep on my side at the start of week 2, I would prop a REALLY soft down pillow under my bottom breast and stuff it sort of between my breasts. I still hug this same squishy pillow to my chest every night, and it's a great source of comfort to me. I highly recommend finding (if u don't already have one) a SUPER squishy, moldable pillow for yourself. Been a god-send!

d&f?
I was wondering about this too... I only slept on my back for a few days after surgery. I still try to, but not for the whole night - just too uncomfortable for me! One thing I was wondering about though; Does anyone know if sleeping on your side might encourage dropping and fluffing? It seems like it would be more beneficial in that sense than sleeping on your back would... My righty needs to drop more and I wondered which side would be most helpful (if at all) with that. Any thoughts??

I started sleeping on my side after the first week. It was slightly uncomfortable, but I did it anyway b/c I was sick of sleeping on my back....and same for stomach too. But I also have a high tolerance for pain. And I was hoping sleeping on my stomach would help keep the pockets open.

I am guessing that's morning boob - I think it's because of not moving so many hours in a row, makes the blood accumilate in that area and that's why it hurts, until you start moving around. Mine goes away after a few minutes and a shower...
