I finally feel ready now, 6 weeks into this, to post my BA experience, particularly in picking out a size....
Firstly, I went into this having complete confidence in the size I thought would be great on me. I wanted to be nice and full minus the Dolly Parton look lol. And I was quite content with what I got till up a few weeks ago, when all the swelling was gone, and I was left with just the boobs. I did the whole rice boob test and showed pics of what I wanted to my PS. I was feeling really confident in what I had choosen. But I'm looking back now trying to figure out 'what went wrong' with the size I had picked. When you have no boobs at all to look down at, and when looking at all the boob pics, *everything* looks big to you! And the bra cup letters all sound huge to you. And the the CC amounts all sound huge. I really thought I had convinced myself that I wasn't really afraid of these numbers and letters. Well......IMO I was wrong. And now I'm seriously contemplating a redo to go bigger, but this time around to NOT go simply by cup size or CC amounts. THIS time I want to simply go by what will *look* good on me. Another girl I spoke to did this for her redo, and now she's absolutely THRILLED by how she looks! I guess I wish she was around when I was still preBA. SOOOOO, when I'm able to I will be going bigger. Yes I know I still have many changes ahead of me as I'm 'only' 6 weeks out right now, but I also know that in 6 months, I will still not be nearly as big as I originally envisioned, unfortunately ![]() I guess my lesson in this has been: bring pics of what you *think* you want to be, then add at least a cup size bigger. At LEAST! (Again, cup size letters and CC numbers are far more frightening than you'd ever imagine. Lesson learned the hard way for sure!) I hope this helps some of you who are still preBA, and can still play around with any size you wish. Yes, surgery is understandably scary, but 'go bigger than you think' is an incredible understatement!

Thanks so much for posting this. I'm trying to understand why they seem so much smaller than you think they'll be. You are definitely not the first to say this. So do you think the rice test is inaccurate? I am trying to decide between 450 and 500. I thought maybe I would be huge with that but now I don't know. I am 5'3 and 115lbs and a very saggy a/b. Thanks again for sharing this.

just glad i could share
![]() the rice test, looking in hind sight, just fills up the cup size you want to be and that's all. and the CC amounts give you a *range* that you'll look like (full, small, medium, etc). if i was still preBA, i would definitely go to the even *more* larger side. we always seem to think, ok if this is good, then a drop more should do it. imo....wrong! looking back now, 100cc's would've given me the *real* fullness i was after. figure in the Under placement, and how easy it really is they get hidden under clothes. (i tried on more form-fitting clothes w/my rice test, forgetting my looser-fitting ones. now it's TOO easy to hide them )so if you're looking for accuracy, go w/what you think looks good. BUT if you're wanting to get fullness, then you'll need to add more (again, if you're going w/unders, and if you want noticeable curves in looser clothes). ![]() also, you can buy cheaply some larger bras and play around. wear them for a while and see how you feel in that larger size. i had a BALL when i was playing around in the DD bra. but i was too darn scared i would end up dolly parton'ish - what a mistake i made! |

thanks for the advice, I have been so contemplating going with a full C when initially I went in a told the doctor baby D. now with all of the suggestions, I may ask the doctor if he thinks that i could go with a full D. rice test floored me last night, seemed to make me more undecided.

yep. went thru the same thing lol
in all honesty - go by what you think *looks* good for you, and forget all about bra cups and CC numbers. when you get to the size you feel you like the best, *then* figure out the bra size and tell your PS.

I originally thought I wanted 425's and that would give me the size I wanted. I knew I wanted moderates because I was more concerned with fullness vs. projection... When my PS was going in we had discussed somewhere between 400's and 500's to get me the fullness (I was scared to death he was going to give me 500's)...I come out of surgery and find out I have 550's!!!! I was like Holy Sh*t!! Did he not listen to me at all.
Today, on the other hand....I have to give him props!! The nurses said that when they put in anything less than 550 it just didn't look full/large enough for my body (I'm 5'11") and before I went in the nurses that were going to be in there with me asked me "okay, if we have to go slightly larger or slightly smaller than what you and your doctor discussed what do you want" I told them slightly (I MEANT SLIGHTLY) larger but please don't over do it. I love my size. They truly do know what they are doing and it's scary to hand over that much control to someone and just say okay whatever looks good but I'm so glad we just agreed on a range and allowed them do the work. I'm 125 cc's bigger than I ever thought I wanted/could handle and they are perfect. It's kinda like getting a tattoo...sometimes allowing a little artistic freedom will actually give you better results from something you didn't even know you wanted. |

I tried on the silicone sizers in my PS's office twice. I'm only two and a half weeks post-op, but I can honestly say that I look exactly like what I did when I tried the sizers on. I think they're the most effective way of deciding things. My PS told me to forget about cc amounts, cup sizes, etc ... and just try on the sizers and pick the one that looked best on me. I'm glad I did. In hindsight, I definitely wouldn't go to a PS who didn't have the option to try them on in the office. It just makes it so much easier!

I completely understand you honey! I also am 6 weeks post op and not satisfied. Yes, we are ONLY 6 weeks out, but I also expected to be MUCH larger. Yes, they are bigger than before and they do look incredibly natural. I think they look great, but I wanted bigger. And I too, will be going bigger eventually. I got 475 cc and I am not even as big as I thought I'd be. I thought I was going to be too big, but I am not. When I go for a redo, I plan on getting somewhere between 625 and 700 cc. That sounds incredibly huge, I know, but really, it isn't. I don't even where a D bra, nor will I. I guess booby greed gets the best of us.
Sorry that you have to feel the same way I do. It isn't fun. I guess try to enjoy what you have now until you go bigger and better!

With the 2nd BA coming up I am truly kicking myself in the ass. Had I done it right the first time I wouldn't have to endure this another time. Anyone know if I could do rice test when I already have implants? They don't have sizers for redos.
