4 days post op and still so much pain!
I had my BA on Thursday and it's now Monday and still so much pain. I'm taking my Percocet and muscle relaxer every 4 - 5 hours in order to control the pain. Last nite, I slept pretty good (for the first time), but when I woke up, the pain / muscle relaxer had worn off and it was so painful. I had to take 2 Percocet to get it back under control. I'm just laying here, propped up in bed, not moving much, and still feeling pain. Is this normal?
I called the Dr and they are filling another muscle relaxer prescription for me. The nurse didn't really comment on this being normal or not. I know everyone heals differently, but I just want some major relief. I'm hoping by the end of the week, I will have little pain when walking around.

Congratulations on your ba! Yea!!!
I am sorry you are in so much pain. My ba was one day before yours, and each day does get a little better. Your morning experience is very normal! We all call it "morning boob" because you are extra stiff and sore in the morning. (Actually, I have found that morning boob can cleverly disguise itself as lunchtime boob, afternoon boob, evening boob, and middle-of-the-night boob, too!). Are you wearing a sports bra or are you wrapped? Is there a chance that whatever you are wearing is too tight? Initially I was wrapped and was in excruciating pain the first day and it was largely due to my wrap being waaaay too tight. If someone can help you up, try walking around some and taking slow deep breaths. I found that the longer I lay around the more sore I actually got....even though it seems like laying around would be the thing to do! Just some easy movement might help. When I do lay down, I've been using a heating pad behind my back because I've found my back becomes sore sometimes too...that heat feels great. Do you have the rest of the week off? Do you have a post-op visit with your doctor coming up anytime soon? (((HUGS))) |

I've been mostly just laying around. I do get up some to get some food / bathroom / etc, but it feels worse when I do. I just don't feel like I have the energy either.
I'm wearing a sports bra that my PS gave me. I just untaped it as maybe that is adding to the pain. I will also try the heating pad - that's a great idea. My back is starting to get a little sore as well from laying around so much. I find that getting up and down is a lot easier, but that's the only thing that feels better so far. I have my 1 wk appt on Wed. I will definitely talk to him about the pain again. On my 1 day appt, he said my muscle was tight. I've been icing them because of the swelling, but stopped since they don't seem nearly as swollen today. I took a week off so I'm suppose to go back to work on Thursday, but I'm really thinking I may have to take Thurs or Fri off or "work from home". Not sure what excuse I will use for needing the rest of the week off. Thanks for the advice. I wasn't sure what to expect going into this and really appreciate everyone's advise!!

I remember on day 5 of my first surgery I was still getting around slow. My DH went back to work on day 7 and I was wondering how I was going to make it through the day.
Each day will get better...I was still on pain meds at day 5 too the first time. |

"Working from home" on Thursday and Friday sounds like it might be a good idea. I hope you can come up with a workable excuse!
![]() Maybe taking the tape off your sports bra will help some. Honestly, I couldn't believe the relief I got by loosening my wrap. It was just compressing my ribs sooo much, but I didn't realize it right away....I figured the wrap must be "OK." I still have a fair amount of pain to the sides of my boobs....not sure exactly why that is, but my actual boobs feel pretty good, and even my incision aren't giving me any trouble. We're all so different. Good luck!!! |

PinkEagle - Ouch - sounds like you are in the same boat I really hope you, as well as everyone else experiencing pain, start to feel better as well. I'm not usually a baby when it comes to pain, but this pain sucks!!! I'm miserable.
I've been intermixing Tylenol in with my Percocet as my PS told me to. They recommended it so I don't get constipated. Luckily, I've been eating so much fiber that I'm still going (although a little tougher). I took the tape off and am trying to lay as still as possible. I have also started getting these weird sharp pains in my boobs. On a good note, I think they are dropping a little - they were up to my throat before. Best of luck to all!! Hope you feel better as well!!!

I also had 390cc; mine were overfilled to 415, submuscular. I went from a 34b to a 36d; my surgery was nearly 5 months ago. As for your pain..I was in the same boat
I had the [worst] pain for the first week..7 days after my surgery my stitches came out and my surgeon massaged my breasts and moved my implants around in their pockets and it made a world of difference. After that, my pain was pretty much gone for good. To be honest, I think I would have felt better if I would have been moving around a little more...I did nothing but lay propped up on the couch. I should have been up walking and moving my arms around...my surgeon said that would have kept me from being so stiff. This is a very difficult time I know, but it will get better before you know it!!!! Good luck!
