Hi ladies,
it's been 6 days after my BA now and I am wondering when this morning boobies pain will go away...! I am so much in pain in the morning, I cant really sleep well at night either. Is it bad if I sleep flat? I knew I was supposed to use a lot of pillows to stay up 45 degree but I couldn't sleep at all with all those pillows so I just decided to sleep with my normal pillow. Is that why I am so much in pain in the morning? Does anyone have any recommendation for good night sleep? I had a post-op meeting with my ps today and he told me everything looked pretty good so I am pretty relieved. But morning boobies pain is killing me!

pillows
Hate to take you back to the pillows, but I do think they help if you can get situated. Also, I put pillows under my arms to support them as well--this relieved some pain. It's tough, but in a few weeks it will all be back to better sleeping. Hang in there!
Oh, what about a recliner? |

Yeah as Victoria said my PS recommended a recliner. So that's what I'm going to be sleeping on for the first few weeks at least. I believe it will take some preassure off.

UGH! hate morning boobies. Like two rocks plastered on my chest. I wonder if they are worse with unders and overs. I have unders and was thinking maybe the muscle was tighter in the morning. Seems to improve once I get up and move around.

Probably because in the am your muscles are cold from not moving around so that makes them feel tight. Oh how I remember I was in alot of pain for bout 10 days! Getting a redo Thurs. hope its not as bad. Are you taking something at night to help you sleep? You may need to take a pain pill before bed. Its ok to sleep flat also. it won't hurt anything you need to rest, sleep is important while you are healing so however you can get comfy. Hope it gets better soon.

Morning boob sucks, no way around it, but there are a few things you can try to make it less painfulFirst of all, as you start to get up, support both boobies with at least one of your hands/arms. Don't let them move any more than necessary. Then once you are sitting or standing, very gently stretch your arms out to the sides and above your head. Do a few shoulder rolls. Do this very slowly and carefully, you don't want to stretch too much. (if your PS told you not to do moves like that, ignore this advice!) IF you are allowed to massage, massage very gently until the muscles start to loosen up. It won't completely take away the rock-feeling, but it helps. And remember, it WILL go away and be nothing but a bad memory. And I bet you'll decide it was all worth it.......

AHH!! Morning boob sucks!!! I am still sleeping with 3 pillows under me, so I sleep at about a 45 degree angle. It really does make a difference. I am 12 days out I think and I STILL have it. I do have complete unders, btw. It usually takes a hot shower and a little moving around to help mine. Good luck! =)

I know it was sooo hard trying to get a good night's sleep propped up on pillows, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do! As for morning boob, I was totally done with it at 3 weeks post op. I know it seems like a long time, but it gets better with each passing day.

A friend of mine recommended this, I'm going to get it before my BA/TT:
http://www.**********.com/mmh/product.do?id=13440 She suggested the 12 inch since it puts you at a 45 degree angle. Also you don't have to worry about your pillows shifting around! I also saw this one, but it's not 100% memory foam, but cheaper: http://www.**********.com/mmh/product.do?id=10574 HTH!

I didn't use a recliner - we have a comfy couch and I piled pillows up in a certain way on the couch. It worked great for me - and much more comfortable than piling pillows up on my bed. You definitely do not have to go out and buy a recliner.
