Hey ladies...I am getting my BA May 8th going from small B to hopeful large C/baby D, and crease partial unders. My PS does not teach/instruct massaging, saying just normal movements will massage the implant pocket. I guess I am confused bc with partial unders I thought the bottom of the implant was not under the muscle, meaning it would get no massaging to keep the pocket open!! I am terrified to get CC and would much rather do some massaging...did anyone else not massage unders??

Does your ps use textured implants? This could be one reason he doesn't do massaging.

I have unders and was instructed to massage at least once a day. It not only keeps the pocket open but seems to keep them softer.

That's not uncommon. There are a lot of PS's that don't recommend it. Keep in mind that every PS is different and has different views. I strongly recommend that you do exactly what your PS instructs you to do. If not, you put yourself at risk of not getting a redo at minimal or no charge if something should happen. Hope this helps to ease your mind. Good luck and try not to fret about it.

I have partial unders, smooth round, and my doctor said not to massage. His explanation was that he creates the pocket in the precise size and location it should be, so massaging isn't necessary - if anything it would stretch out the pocket and then the implants wouldn't be where they are supposed to.
