Is it possible that I'll never drop & fluff?!

I know, I know...I need to be patient. However, I'm just wondering if it's possible that I'll never drop and fluff and that they are what they are. Since I was told to massage them, I squish them around every day, and they're "soft." So, what if this is as good as it's gonna get?! I can't imagine them getting any softer, which is an indication of "fluffing," right???

I read on the other "fluff" post that it can take up to a year for this...have any of you had to wait that long? After looking at all the photos in the yahoo groups, it seems like everyone is dropping and fluffing really nicely except for me.

Also, is it drop first then fluff? Or, can you fluff first then drop? Or, can you do them both at the same time?!

Sorry you're feeling like it isn't happening sweetie.....I just looked at your updated pics, and yes very slowly you are making progress. For those of us who started with NOTHING it may take longer for the muscles and skin to stretch. What does your PS say about it? I wouldn't worry too much hon unless they're hard and painful......patience is certainly needed moreso post operatively.

There could be a possibility that your pockets were not created large enough for them to drop lower.... Try waiting a little while longer you may just wake up one day and to find them lower.

Thanks so much for checking out my pics, Ewalina and Summer. I won't be seeing my PS until January 21st for my 3-month post op visit, so I'll wait to see what he has to say at that time. Who knows...they may have d&f'ed by then! :-) I'm glad you can see a little progress....a little is better than none. At least they're not rectangular any more. LOL

why are you disappointed Reese? i've seen your pics time and again and i think you're doing great.

ok so we all know that they're still a bit hard but you are so tiny. you have a very small frame and your peanut butter cups were really tiny things. they're now bigger and have a nice shape and you have no complications. its all a waiting game really. patience is a virtue that none of us here seem to have.

keep on massaging and whatever you're doing. you look great honey and although the dropping and fluffing is taking time, it will come. just remember - lucky you has no complications and have nice bigger boobies

Okay, hope this is not a dumb question, but how do you see the yahoo group pictures?? Is this individual invites or can you go there and see everyone's photos?

On the dropping/fluffing thing. I am 3 weeks since ba, I have already dropped, but I think I liked it better when I was big up top as well. I am already having boobie greed and know when I have to replace they will be bigger! Are we ever happy??? LOL

Reese... I'm a month ahead of you and I feel the same way!!! All of the girls who got their BAs around the time that I did have already seemed to have dropped and fluffed. Meanwhile, I'm still hoping mine drop some more before they fluff! I think that's why they say it can take up to a year.... because it's different for everyone.

My BA was only four days after yours and I have not dropped or fluffed either. If you look at my leftie side view pics you can see this. Mine are not even squishy like yours yet -- still very hard. LOL! I'm trying to be patient too!

I looked at your pics. I am SO envious of your great cleavage! You are definitely making progress. And you obviously haven't finished dropping yet. I don't think "softness" means you're done dropping.

The vast majority on this forum have said they saw the most changes between 3 and 4 months -- see the poll on "how long before your full unders looked and felt natural." And a sizeable number saw the most changes between 5-6 months. Hang in there.

I'm sorry you are taking longer than what seems to be the avarage. but I think Ewalina's right, it could be you were skinnier and therefore it is taking longer for your skin to give in.. i saw your pics and do agree they seem quite high still.. I have one side way behind the other on the dropping process too.. so all is possible! either way, relax and do your best (massage, cream, etc) and talk to your ps when u see him in 2 weeks...
hang in there, hopefully the'll start changing soon (i did read 4 mo is about the avarage, so you are not that far behind..)

Hi Milla,

You're totally right, and I am VERY thankful that I have not experienced any complications thus far. The thing I'm most disappointed about is my downward pointing nips. I see everyone else's photos, and I haven't come across a single one where they point down. :-( I've seen them point straight and slightly upward, but NEVER down. It looks ridiculous if I put on a top with a built-in shelf bra...because there is no padding to hide my nips, my profile looks really, really hideous. You can see what I'm referring to in my "boobies dressed up" photos - the one in the pink cami. After breastfeeding my little girl, my nips seemed to double in size and protrude really far.

If I press slightly on the top portion of my breast, it lifts up the bottom half just enough for them to point out instead of down. They still sit low, but at least when I do that they're not pointing down. I was hoping that when I fully drop and fluff that they will naturally do this. I haven't bought any nipple covers yet, but I did try to bandaid them...you could totally see the bandaid thru my shirt, so that's not going to work. I'm guessing that even if I bought the actual nipple covers that you'd still be able to see the "flower" shape around them and that it would look silly. I suppose I'm destined to wear some kind of padding on my boobs no matter what. :-)

I'm sure your nips will lift, but Plan B: get a quick and easy crescent lift. I will be getting one on my leftie if the nip isn't looking up by January.

Can be done in the office with a local anesthetic. The scar is nearly invisible.

They just snip out a bit of skin above the areolas and pull the areolas up.

If you gently pull the skin on the top of your breast up a bit toward your neck, you will see how this lifts the nips.
