Just to add to your question, maybe i can also ask what are the early signs of cc and bottoming out? Usually we see pictures but its evident that theres a complication. How can you tell early on that you have cc?

I have CC on my rightie. I started noticing about one month out, things began to look at little different on that side...it began to feel a little tighter than the left but no pain during massaging. At that time, my leftie already began to D&F but the rightie looked the same as it did one week out. I thought, "oh, maybe it'll just take time". A few weeks ago, I started to have some pain on that side, but not too bad and still no change in appearance.

I saw my PS for my 3 month post-op a little over a week ago and sure enough....it was CC. I am a "borderline Grade III". SOO...he put me on some steriods and antibiotics and strict massaging (as much as possible). I see him back in September but I don't know if I can wait that long. It is so depressing to me! I don't even want to wear the LONG AWAITED bikini! ARG!

I hope this helps ladies!

Hi Ladies
I also have cc but I did not get mine until 4 months p/o. I finally noticed that my right dropped and became really soft and normal while my left just got higher and really hard. Harder then when I first had them done back in Jan. I actually called the doctor and had my appt. he confirmed the cc and I was told it was only a 5% chance of this happening especially at this late in the game. To answer your question I has no warning signs, no infection, my surgery went well and when I went back at 6 weeks everything was on track and looked good. Now I look like a freak cant wear a bathing suit top because one side fits and the other spills over. I am actually expecting a callMonday to set up my fix up surgery date. I am truly sorry I cant be of help to you ladies I am an unusual case. Just keep your eye on the girls and if you notice extreme tightness, high placement of implant compared to the other those might be signs. I should also say mine are overs.

So I guess my question is at what point in recovery should you start worrying or call the PS about CC? I am 18 days post op and my girls are still swollen and although squishier than the first week, they are still hard and I have mild pain in both. I guess it seems as my PS told me the signs of hematoma, but not much on CC.

I have unders. I'm not really all that worried about it right now as I am so early in recovery still..just looking to get educated, esp. since I am not EVER going to be allowed to massage (I have textured implants)

I would say at your next post-op (at one month?), ask your PS. It normally takes at the minimum (from what I've been reading and what my PS says) 3 months for the CC to begin to shake it's ugly head. Sometimes it develops much later! My swelling took about a month to really go down and for me to say, "hey I have boobs now and not torpedoes!". The side that I have the CC is the side that bruised horribly and has been different since day one... I was super careful not to massage the bruises but I had to do what I needed to do to get the implant "moving". I really have no idea how it happened and why, but really look for changes in shape and hardness and if you have pain that you've never had before. That is great that it's "squishier" than before! That's a good sign!
